Counterweight..Quick one.GURUS.
Just for the sake of asking. Is the rule of thumb that it is "same series and the Same Counterweight?..that is S4 for S4 N/A...can you take a Counterweight from a S4TII automatic(is there such a car?) to use for a s4 N/A. 5 speed light flywheel?..I do realize that there is a Difference in Rotor weight between S4 and S5.I'm thinkin very little on the counterweight.so why not run an S5 weight for the S4 Lightweight flywheel.Moderators do not delete.Though it's been covered,I could not find Effects between series and if a TII Auto counterweight can be used on an N/A.Thanks In advance Misterstyx69.

any front counterweight (or rather there is only one counterweight) from an S4 will work with any S4 rotating assembly, and similar with S5.
the rear counterweight was integrated into the flywheel, except on the auto tranny.
however, if you are going with an aftermarket flywheel that does not have a counterweight built in, you can use an auto tranny counterweight from the same series (or actually in the case of an S5 you can use an S6 one also).
i don't think there are series-specific flywheels, it's just the counterweight that will be different.

Thanks Aaron. What I am after is ..the Ramifications of using an S5 Rear (automatic Trans) Counterweight weight Attached to An S4 lightweight flywheel..even though the Series is Different,...AND..since there Are Guys with Lightweight TII flywheels,I want to Know What they have been using as a Counterweight, since I am S4 N/A...If it is JUST series Specific, then it should be that the Counterweight would be the same for N/A and TII (in the same series..like S4 N/A and S4 TII).

You can use a FACTORY S4 N/A Flywheel on a TII Rotating Assembly. Vice Versa.
S4 is weighted the same, TII or N/A. S5 is weighted the same, TII or N/A. Can't mix S5 with S4.
So when you use a lightweight flywheel on an S4 motor, your looking for an S4 automatic rear counterweight. Since it would be the same for every S4 motor.
Speaking factory of course.

yup, the point is aftermarket flywheels are not series-dependent, you just need the appropriate counterweight. and the TII flywheel is a different diameter, so i think you have to use TII clutch, etc.

Thanks Sean..SO, there we have it(Rxciting may want this info too)..the 13b N/A (86-88)counterweight is 10.04 lbs as opposed to the 13b N/A (89-91) which is 9.54Lbs..so In short the Counterweight difference in Series is 1/2 a Pound...may be enough to throw things out of whack.

I had this Pointed out to me(thanks Kevin)..I made a Big BOO-BOO!..the difference is A half of a Pound in internal Rotor Weights between Series...NOT Counterweights.(I apologize and I'll try to be more careful when posting info in the Future.).

I used a s5 rear weight on a s4 motor for a while and really didnt notice that much of a
balance problem, it might not have been as smooth but it was not as bad as i thought it would be.
