ON Car Values

What sort of money do 3rd gen car bring in original shape. Mine is a 127k touring model in all original condition. If I was to sell this car... what is a fair price? I had someone offer me 16k. Is that low or too high?

FD's seem to be a depriciating value. 16k is probably not far off for a LHD original FD. I noticed FC's are appriciating a little bit for Turbo II's. But it entirely depends on the car, condition, history, mileage, location and most importantly, the buyer.

16 k doesn't seem bad looking at the mileage if the cars extremely clean maybe a bit more

Ya I told him I didn't feel that was enough. I'd say it very clean and it hasn't been modified in any way...just maintained.
Lets face it each day passes there will be less of these beaut's to be had in stock form.

16k seems like a good offer. If I had a stock fd I would have sold it for that.

Agreed - $16k is about the most you're going to get for a nice, clean stock FD about now. I suspect if you listed it for sale right now most of your offers would be around $12-13k. You might get more but you'd be waiting on a buyer to come along.

I'd be all over an FD if I could actually shell out the price of one..all at once!

It's funny my FC has a Total investment of Parts around that amount through out the years..
(but it looks like poo-poo..lol!!..Not Zoom Zoom!!)

What your car is worth depends on a lot of different factors. A big difference in value is also found between LHD & RHD cars.

Colour actually seems to make some difference in value as well.

LHD is worth more. Going off what I paid for my RHD, it can be worth up to 10k more

Definately LHD is more valuable, no question.

Just from my un-scientific observation, the rarer colours are more in demand and seem to sell quicker, or get a bit of a premium between two otherwise equal cars.

Chaste White is rare and in demand, as an example. (Would be my first choice if I were in the market.)
Competition Yello Mica seems to get a premium as well, but as I recall it was only available in North America on a single model for a single year.

Well luckily I have no pressure to sell it. I may list it higher and see who might want it.
After all, like Mark Twain said " buy land, there not making it anymore "
I'd say the same applies to RX7's.
After all the fast and furious kids have wrecked most of them!

What is a RZ. Is that a stock or factory vehicle 3 gen?

RZ model wasn't sold in north america where we only had the base, touring, and R1 models. RZ comes with recaro bucket seats and a different suspension.

The R1 model was the same as the rest except it had dual oil coolers. RZ >> R1 for sure.

R1s are more than just oil coolers - much stiffer springs and shocks, front and rear spoilers, unique seats - basically intended to be the track-ready model.

Very interesting. In what way were the seats different. I don't believe I've ever seen a R1. Were they hard to get model. Or was that an easy unit to buy when they were new.
I thought the Touring was the top model. You learn something new eh?
Did the R! have all the extra's the touring came with plus those other performance options as well? Or was it more stripped down for track use.
Dam ...wish I could have seen one.
