Actually, if the deer lands on highway property (doesn't fly or bounce outside the highway fence line) you CAN have the deer.

It cost me (or the insurance company) 5 grand to learn that!

Part 2 - if you hit a deer, then drive to a payphone to phone the cops, you can be charged with leaving the scene of an accident and fined up to 5k. I got threatened with that the first deer I hit.
