We need some kinda of place where we can cruise. Its required that we grace the streets in a horde so that all may gaze upon and bow down before all that is rotary.

Caymens. I'd rather be at the meet. It would suck though if we went to all this trouble and only like 3 guys showed. I would rain Rotary Fury down upon the souls of those who didnt show.

I wouldn't worry about poor turn-out, these 1st-of-spring meets are usually very well-attended. BTW, were you able to scare up a 1/2" drive breaker bar for your front pulley bolt?

You're welcome and it will. Running with a choke thet stays closed consumes obscene quantities of fuel. Should be ok now.

I seen a silver one at sunridge mall a few weeks ago. Bone Stock 93.

Anyways, anyone know how to work with stock EFI? I start my car and it revs to 3000, then gradually drops down and dies. Theres no vaccuum leaks that I can find and timing is good. Mind you, I can't really look for vaccuum leaks because it wont run on its own. Stupid car.

Are you certain that all of those sensors are plugged in (and into their proper places)?

Im certain they are all plugged in properly. All the ones that I could find homes for.

Those sensors from the oil pan, where do they go? You were on that side and I can't find a home for them. Im sure it wont make a difference, but its worth a try at this point. Im thinking the manifold has a leak or something so Im going to remove the upper and check everything again.

Oh and my oil leak was the rear oil cooler line. I need to get some of those washers from mazda tomorrow.

Are you saying there are some that you couldn't find homes for?

Those sensors from the oil pan, where do they go?

If I recall there were two (one for oil level and the other for (I think) temperature). At any rate, those were only unhooked from the oil pan end and are not the same, so it should be impossible to cross them. There are two more smaller ones that have a threaded-on fitting going to the upper rear plate on the drivers' side. None of these items would have an effect on your idle problem though.

As for the sensors unhooked on my side I'd have to see how you re-connected them. Quite often if you don't know exactly where they go you can figure it out by the way the wires they're connected to want to lie--- after 20 years in a given position they tend to take on a "set." If still in doubt you could either compare it to another FC or bring it by here for another view.

Oh and my oil leak was the rear oil cooler line. I need to get some of those washers from mazda tomorrow.

How are the other fittings holding up? I'm guessing you re-used the originals?

Im going to remove the UIM and inspect everything to make sure its in its proper place. Im getting a new gasket (for the UIM) and A bunch of those washers on friday. Mazda is out of stock so they ordered them for me.

I suspect a vaccuum leak. It revs to 3000RPM when the choke is open all the way. It shouldn't do that. From my experience with my carbureted setup, it was a vacuum leak that caused that, as well as poor timing. Timing on the engine was set 'by ear', when I get it to hold idle, I'll use a timing light to check it. But thats just a little thing.

I suspect a vacuum leak.

Im also going to see if I can fit some/most of my FB exhaust onto the FC. Might be able to pull some of it off considering my FC factory exhaust kinda fell apart.

Would like to meet up with some of you guys and check out the other first gens. Tommorow I'll have to take it for a good drive. I haven't driven my poor car much in the past 4 years to to the crazy alberta insurance prices. finally hit 25 and and my rates dropped $2300. i am free to drive again. hope to see some other rx's out on the streets

I'm getting the itch to put my car on the road. Some people watch for the first robin of spring, I watch for the first street sweeper.

All rotary engine geeks welcome, even if you don't have a 7 on the road. But if you show up in a riced-out Honda we'll push it over the cliff and into Glenmore reservior.
