Calgary - FD steering column electrical prob
Hey all.
I got an FD a few months ago, and i've got all the annoyances fixed, except one left.
I replaced my tach last weekend, and when i had my dash apart i thought i would be able to fix the last problem, which is with the headlight switch (not the pop-up switch, the tree switch)
The car had been broken into over the winter, and the steering column was replaced at an rx-7 shop in town, however, i thinkg they mixed up some wires when they did it, because the previous owner tells me it's been like this since the break-in.
The problem i'm having is that hte lowbeams and the high beam are functioning opposite to how they should. The highbeams are always on, when the lights are on, and the low beams go off, when the switch to turn the high beams on, is engaged.
When i had the dash off, it didn't seem like there was going to be any way to fix this without dissasembly, and i'm nervous around the airbag.
So, i'm asking -- did i not look hard enough, to see where these wires may be crossed and if so, is this something that any shop could fix, or would a mazda dealer be the only place to take it?
