As the title says I was watching the Barrett Jackson's auction on Speed channel last night and rolling across the auction block was a 1993 Pettit Racing Banzai Edition Rx7. It went for $48,000us when the bidding closed. The announcers were talking about another 7 that went across the block earlier but sold in the twenties. They went on to suggest that they believed the 1993-1995 Rx7 was going to be one of the first collectible Japanese sportscars of the future. Good news for FD owners.

damn, too bad I missed that - Ive wanted to see a wankel powered somethign cross that block for sometime now......I mostly just want to hear the one english commentator say "wankel" - haha

Makes me think I should buy an FD...but then again, if they are projected to be collector cars, shouldn't our FC's be worth like 150 grand by now? j/k
