anyone in/or near cambridge have 2 1/8" socket?

I need to take the flywheel off my 13b, and was wondering if anyone had the correct socket that I could use. I have the engine in the trunk of my daily driver, so I could come to you to remove the nut. If anyone could help me out that would be great.

I won't be around this weekend, but next week in the evening would be best.

Thanks,
mike

If not, I believe Princess Auto sells them or can get them in.

Too bad you won't be around this weekend. I'll be passing by tomorrow morning with my 2 1/8" (54MM) socket and electric impact gun...

last i checked with Princess, they only sell up to a 50mm. The guy may just have been an idiot though.

What kind/brand of electric impact gun can get the flywheel nut off ?
I didn't think you could get electric impact guns with that much torque.

The impact gun I use is just a standard Princess Auto unit. Always on sale for like $70. It's rated at 250 Ft-lbs, but generally has no problem breaking free the flywheel nut and front hub nut.

DeWalt makes some electric impact guns that go to about 1500 ft-LBs, and the aren't overly expensive.

Princess Auto doesn't sell a 2 1/8th" or 54mm socket. They go as high as 2" and 50mm only.

when I took my last engine apart, I broke the flywheel nut loose with a basic campbell hausfeld air impact gun without a problem. IIRC they are only rated for about 100-150ft-lbs.

Sears sells them, and, most often will have them in stock.

You could always drive to a dealer/garage and pay a mechanic with an air gun $10 to undo the nut.

Many places sell 'em, it's just that as soon as you get above a 2" socket the prices start to skyrocket!

I checked princess auto and you can only buy that socket in a set of 6 for $99. I will likely just end up going to heavy truck mechanic and get it pulled off there.

I'm fairly sure my local surplus store has them for $9.99. At least, that's where I got mine. They aren't impact though...I'll check next time I go by and see if they are still in stock.

Pay a visit to Essential Speed and see if they'll loan you one if you leave a deposit or something.

I checked at work and couldn't find one yet. Unfortunately most of the service guys are out installing weld cells right now so their tools are gone too.

Would that be Forest city surplus? If so I'll check kw surplus cause they're affiliated.
