rx-7 ?

How could any RX-7 win anything? Only 2 RX-7's took part in drag racing, one turbo 2 and one 3rd gen. Both fast but no 3rd gear. Ran really good. Where were all the 7 guys. Gas price was ok. You all full of it. Mazda day Hondas showed. Maybe we'll see you all at the Honda event.

I was hoping to find someone from this forum who took pics of RX-7's. So far there are tons of pics with Protege's, 3's, and RX-8's.

Where are the RX-7's and Miata's???

Alot of events happened on this same weekend. I know more than a few 3rd gen's would have showed provided a certain forum member didn't get married. But alas, there are some things that take priority over others.

Hopefully next year there will be more RX-7's showing up.

Mazdabation took 2nd to a white 3rd gen. Only a handful of 3rd gens there but there was about 30 RX7's total which is the most rx7's in one gathering that Ontario has ever seen.

I saw a lot of 7's sitting on their own. We were not organized well enough to move cars around so we were all together.

Besides the first three cars in the photo > most of the cars in this crooked line were Rx7's.

There were 32 names on the list of those who were gonna be there!

The organization was a bit lacking as far as getting the RX-7s together but really, it's a major task with so many cars.

What I found disappointing was that there was one RX-7 winner for show and shine. Should it not have been split up by generation? Granted there was not a tonne of cars present but certainly enough to have on winner per generation. Go figure that an FD won show and shine...who would have thunk it? Completely ignore the absolutely mint stock 1st gen, or the 2nd gens with some actual fabrication (a twin T25 FC is not exactly common, nor is a big turbo 6 port, or a half bridge RE). Part of the issue is that if you registered for the show and shine, you were stuck by your car for several hours waiting to be judged...there was too much to see hence I bet a lot of potential winners did not register.

Overall though, it was a great day. Good weather (and I have the sunburn to prove it) and it was great to see some people that I have not talked with in years. And the drive there and back (the first long highway trip for Tina in 5+ years) was totally uneventful. Even got good mileage...

The car with the bra in that pic is mine! And the blue GXL next to it (the only BLUE RX-7 in the whole place, wtf?!) is my dads. I was set to hit up the drag strip but I couldn't get new tires in time and the ones I was driving on probably wouldn't have passed the tech
I was the girl in the white tank and ball cap with the huge guy in the "Honda Killer" Tshirt, lol.

ETA: I'll try to get some '7 pics up today while I'm "working" if my camera will cooperate

Sorry to be a post *****, it won't let me edit...

Which RX 7 won the show and shine? There was a beautiful 3rd gen there the guy brought over from Japan. I was rooting for him, but I had to leave at 6:15 so I didn't get to see any of the awards.

Ya, it was a bit difficult trying to organize the parking with only a few people. Thanks everyone for showing up.

There was no "best of" for generations because then we would have had to make the same for the other models (too many categories). The show and shine judging is based on condition, modifications, and cleanliness of the cars, not the performance level or size of turbo, etc. Just the rules, not my opinion.

The winner of best rx7 is the white FD in classic auto's album.

I'm in Stoney Creek, so it was literally a 20 min drive for me. I'm the one who said something stupid like "Whatever he said!" when we were pulling in, lol.
I'm itching to see more photos of the RX7s, as I haven't got any

Once again arogance shines, and the reason i know longer post, or have not posted on the forum in months. I enjoy going to events so much, but every time i go i just keep to myself walking like a loner but for one reason! The coments that i hear come from peoples mouths......

Yes my FD placed over a second gen or first gen, but like the first gen you mention my car is also original paint, with mint original interior. And if you want i can make a list of the up to $20g's of go fast parts and other stuff i have put into it !

I dont care who wins, i enter it because i enjoy it, i have been around it for years with my fathers classic Vetts and his shows so its a part of me. even with my car, do you think i can compete with a cavalier with TVs and gameing in it? No, but i still enter anyways.......

I have come to learn the RX7 community has got to be one of the most worst communitys out there.....look at the Protege club, they do nothing but praise each other, NO MATTER who wins. And they are all friendly to each other! They get together, take pics yadda yadda. bearly does anyone in the 7 club come up and said " shawn i love your car blah blah......" and just talk about it. its more like just dont talk to him. He has an FD so he thinks hes better story again..............

ahh ill just end it there, Those who do appreciate cheers.....

Does it really matter who won? As long as people got together for a meet, to mingle with others who enjoy the same hobby as you? Isnt that all that matters?

Totally agree with ya there Shawn, Its sad to see what gets judged as "best" now adays. Someone with a jalopy, overly done body kit and a few TV's make it the best is just ugh...

Shows should be for fun, excitement and to get along with the community. But the 7 club is hard to do that with. I actually am apart of the protege club now (got a protege) and its hella different. Its just exactly as you said it, not to even mention the organization of discounts and groupbuys.

I seen your car a few times shawn, and i do think its rock solid do dont think i dont appreciate

There must have been a miscommunication somewhere, because nowhere in my post did I intend to show any hostility towards FDs, other owners or those judging the show. My point was more that there should have been generational judging on the RX-7s, though I understand why there was not. With only a few RX-7s of any generation it probably would have been redundant to have three winners since in some categories there are cars that would have won almost by default.

Ah, screw the rest of 'em! Every generation of a FWD economy car is about as boring as the previous.

Hey so that girl with the bra on her car is on this forum ... lol ... girls and their bras, why do they like to have them everywhere, things look much better in their natural form lol ... jk

It was nice to meet some people, I met:

Coldfire
ClassicJoe
JoeRPM
Jon

I met other people there but not sure if they're on the forum or not. There was this strange, but nice guy that gave me a ride there, thanks Aaron ... what would the world do without you. I had fun picking at his brains on the ride there and back.

I too was very disappointed with the lack of organization at the event. I really wanted to ride in the P-Port car, but me and coldfire both got screwed over with that one.

Anyways, I'll try to get some pictures posted up later on, but if you want those bikini contests pictures, that will be 5$ a picture. All proceeds go to my RX-7 lol jk boys ...

I have a few pictures and will try and post them later when I have time.

I did not stay very long and basically just wondered around with the wife for the 3 or 4 hours and then left. If I had more time to organize I would have tried the drag racing and track event. I regret missing the opportunity.

I saw a few rx7's enter in when I left and I am sure if we did indeed park all together it might have looked better. It was the largest rx7/rx8 gathering I have seen yet. Other then rotary revolution.

Hey guys. the rx7 that won first prize belongs to me. I had the rotary dynamics sticker. Jimmy just did a great job rebuilding my motor. I'm surprised I won, I saw a lot of nice rx7s there on Saturday.

I'm not sure if the guy that drives the black rx7 that asked to take a pic of my car is on this forum but if you are I'm sorry I was a little rude....I just didn't really hear what you said. Well if you're on this forum I hope there are no hard feelings and I like what you did to your car.
