adjusting tps with no bac installed?

k i read how to adjust it on www.fc3spro.com problem is, the car im helpin with only has the throttle cable side set screw and the main tps set screw. the bac has been removed. if we did manage to get it to 1k ohm, the idle would be way too low. could i loosen the bolts to the tps and try and slide it back? other than that, i cant see how to keep the idle right and have a proper set tps. thanks for any suggestions.

You should be able to adjust the throttle stop screw to get the desired idle speed, and then adjust the TPS adjust screw to get the 1 Kohm reading.

Is this a TII or N/A?

yah, i just had a chat with chris ng, my first prob i did was not have the multi meter pluged into the right holes. when i screwed clockwise, the ohms would go down, i should have had the multi meter pluged so when i screw counter-clockwise the ohms go down, not up. ill try this, im sure it will fix my prob. btw its a t2 w/ throttle body mod done. i was wrong in my previous post how i said the idle would be to low, because the tps screw should not affect idle at all, could mean another problem, but id have to relook with my new information. thanks for the post though. ill post back if i cant fix it.

i am not sure, but when you said you played with the tps for 5 hours i assume just adjusting the screw. i would do the easy things first like checking the throttle cable, adjusting the tps with a multimeter(i just bought one from canadian tire and then refund it.......). i also just reread your post. you said it wont' rev past 1500 rpm when it heats up. you mean everything works fine before it warms up??!

I had the same problem as well, tps was unplugged and it wouldnt rev once warmed up. It could also be that the tps is very bad, check it with a multimeter.
