2006 Racing Schedule for Scarboro Mazda Racing
Hi everyone, just thought I would update you on what we are doing for the 2006 season. 1st, our new engine is finished! It is a Danny Manning bridgeport and I know it will be strong and very reliable. We will again be running the Ontario Challenge Cup series (schedule is posted at www.casc.on.ca events page). There are nine points events and we will probably only run he Sundays this year because of time constraints. We choose to run Ontario Challenge Cup because the regulations are easy to comply with. The regualtions are simply that the car must be closed wheeled, and a minimum wheel base. The classes are based on lap time with a break out. We have no aero rules, engine, wheel/tire etc. You can run what ya brung. Our grids are usually 25+ cars, and that grows to about 50+ the last couple races each year. We have stock Nissan Sentra's to all out Trans-am cars run Ontario Challenge Cup, lap times from 1:50 down to 1:24's. Very exciting racing indeed. We hope with our new engine to run 1:37's to 1:38's consistently. My best lap was 1:37.712 when the old engine was fresh. Pics of the car are available at www.motorpride.com/ScarboroMazRacin if you wish to look at them!
Our season starts May 13-14th at Mosport and ends Sept 31 at Mosport again.
We have tentatively arranged to have the Meeting of the Mazda's at Mosport his year at one of our regional weekends, with a special area sectioned off, and lunch time lapping for all the participants. Hopefully someone from the organizing comittee will read this and contact me so we can move forward with the planning of it! Mazda Canada should participate if we can get them some concrete plans in the near future. Hope to see you out at some events!
