ON 1990 TII Battery Relocation

Hey guys,

I'm finally getting back to work on my FC and am starting with relocating that battery to the rear cubby.

I have been using the guide from FC3SPRO.com and I've been able to find everything I need except for the 2 AWG cable. Any ideas where I can get this in the Scarborough/Pickering area? I need about 30 ft.

Thanks for the help!

Cool Princess auto was going to be my first stop.

Ted suggested a welding shop as well, but I really don't know any. I tried to do a google search, but it only gave me princess auto.

I'll check it out 2mrw. If anyone else has any ideas keep em comin!

I think i paid 20$ for 15feet of 2/0 wire at liquid air/miller welding

starters for a car are usually up to 250amps. 4awg is only rated for 135, 2awg for 181.
a smaller wire will allow less voltage to pass through and create excess heat.
theirs no harm going to big. just a slight drop in amps.

i'd refer to this site before buying your wire
http://www.powerstream.com/Wire_Size.htm
using the calculator at the bottom, 4awg would only let 10.7volts to the starter.

I put mine in the bins. I got my cable from an equipment rental shop that also sells welding supplies. It came in a 25' roll and cost under $50.

You can get it from auto parts stores too but you'll pay through the nose for it.

Perfect! Thanks for the feed back guys.

The 30 feet is just an estimate from Reted's web site.

Also don't bother with two circuit breakers as on Ted's site. One breaker at the battery is all that is needed.
