we didnt even make it up to the speed limit for the entire 80kms left to ontario. its not too often that you will see a gmc truck trailing a boat go to pass an FD

Sorry.... we were gone for 1Hr anyways (we discovered that boston pizza's service is long)
But as usual we allways like to come and see you guy's too bad it was so short
We will have to meet this year (like you could come to one of our major meets) you are allways welcome
BTW Will it was short but nice seeing you again
Lets hope the weather helps and let's make it happen again soon

Leigh's idea to move all the cars into the covered tunnel certainly saved the show and shine. It was dry, people could pop their hoods to show the BLingBLing (well, except for Neo, who just popped a vain in his forehead due to his baby getting rained on ) and you could stroll up and down the tunnel checking out the cars.
The cruise was fantastic since the weather played along and especially since I FINALLY made it with a perfect running car. It was a beast!!! Sorry to the black MX-3 for my Schumacher style pass and to Scott for a few extra stone chips
Unfortunately, the cruise ended on a bit of a sour note. I hope everything works out.
-Thanks to Mr. Backstreet for a great meet and BBQ.
-Thanks to Ian for pimping his car next to the EviLStink. And for taking hours of constant abuse about being slow, then for being slow, and justifying the constant abuse
-Thanks to Scott for letting my sister ride in a 'nicer, smoother, more comfortable, less smelly, warmer etc etc' car
- to everyone else there!!!!!
PS: Don't try to take an RX-7 up a 50 degree inclined sandy road!!!!

I just wanna thank RXcetera and all the Rx-7 club to invite us piston-powered Mazda's to the trip, and I do say for all (4) Mx-3's that attended teh cruise on Sunday, that it (as always) was an unforgetable experience. It was something I was looking forward to since I missed it last year, and it was definitely worth the wait and the money put into the car specifically for this trip, the Mx-3 performed beautifully, way better than I expected. I'm counting the days until next year.
Thanks again for everything guys!

The BBQing also always starts right after, so you get early dinner. When one goes for dinner and a movie, one doesn't go for the for the first 20 minutes of the movie, then leave for dinner, then come back to catch the end of the movie, if you know what I mean
Maybe the guys had planned exactly that, go for dinner BEFORE the meet, like we've been doing for the past YEARS, but certain things happened that prevented the guys from doing this. We had to leave Montreal a little later than expected, and there was an additional detour to pick more participants on the way. So those delays ended up not leaving them time to eat BEFORE. And by mid-afternoon, you don't care that you'll eat again around 6 or 7, you're hungry right away

No need to be sorry I'm just saying next time maybe before jumping to conclusions, ask the actual people involved
We usually go park our cars at the meet, then just walk to a restaurant close-by. Although, I think in the deserted Corel center area it's harder to walk anywhere, hense why they took their cars. But that, I wouldn,t know, because I didn't make it that far )o:

Whanrow -> a mouse? We'll have to catch up another time...
rotoryrocket1 -> Still have my FRS? Do me two favours; take the batteries out of it, and then throw that pos under a train.
Well, that was... educational...
Left a sunny GTA in the morning only to spend most of the afternoon driving through downpours. Got to the show n' shine just in time to watch everyone leave. At least we caught up to them at the bbq (before the rain started again) and made sure some of the out-of-towners had their accomodations squared away.
And then there's getting to Fairview only to discover that the still camera had the wrong memory card in it. There was space for only a dozen or so pics. And my pc can't access the DVDs that have the video we shot.
And my poor girl got the f**k kicked out her during the cruise. The (known) casualty list so far:
- parking brake failure while waiting for the ferry (if LS hadn't been in the car to jump on the brake... :smash: )
- presilencer slammed into the pavement while leaving the ferry; haven't been able to inspect it yet
- hi-flow cat outer shield was knocked off less than an hour into the cruise
- exhaust leak; think it's just a gasket but won't know until I get under there
- exhaust hangar midway back broke free and dragged under car during drive home on 401; the steel's pretty thin in a few spots on it
- heat shield behind cat has broken loose
- right-rear shock is dead (it wasn't too healthy going in )
- bought and dumped in a ridiculous amount of oil b/c the leaky oil cooler is still on the car. Gotta love paying $3.50/liter at gas stations.
I'll be spending the next few evenings doing repairs. Of course, this is f**k-all compared to another 7-owner's list...
I think I'll spend next year's cruise watching a movie. Those f**king roads...
On the upside, my stereo worked perfectly! All in all, not a weekend riddled with success for this attendee. At least now I can relax (and stopping eating drive-thru - yuck.)
edit: I'll throw in that it was a twisted moment of pride when an FD owner told me that my car "stinks." (yes, he was actually referring to the smell of the exhaust.)
And for those who don't yet know, one of the FBs slid through a turn into a *deep* ditch and rolled onto its roof. The occupants were a little scratched up but otherwise unharmed. The police did appear (and surprisingly quickly, too) but did not charge the driver. The occupants managed to get both themselves and the car, which is a write-off, home.
I would like to strongly urge anyone considering posting pics of the crashed car to obscure or cover the license plates, if visible.

We (Qc Guys) were seated in the Lounge at Boston Pizza's, and it would have made a great place to hangout with everyone. Seriously.
Next year we should compile a list of cell phone numbers (at least from the notorious clan leaders) so that Plan B's can be better coordinated.
Is there any other location in Ottawa that can host 70 cars and have facilities (WC and Eatery) on the premises? Restaurant with a terrace?

Yeah, that crash suck. But thank to EVERYONE stopping and pulling us out and making sure we were fine.
Thanx Rich for staying around and making sure everything was good. My parents showed up around 2am with the truck and dolly. (got home around 1pm)
Thanx Will for eveything.
Spencer will fill you guys in with details, and I'm sure some of the guys from the cruise have pics of the crash.
