*****Ottawa Mazda Meet 2008! June 7-8*****
#26
I am planning on making the trip from New Brunswick to Ottawa for the meet next week with my 94 FD. This will be my first meet and I was wondering if anyone will have parts for sale? I am looking for a good quality down pipe and aluminum AST...see you all there.

and word on the street is there may be some free beer floating around Saturday night...or maybe it's just a shameless ploy to get more people to come. only one way to find out....

Awesome, cant wait fo the meet. If worse come to worse for people coming in from town I might be able to take in a few but thats maybe lol. I will be there but I will probably be sporting the Protege lol, My rex is almost complete just got a couple things that set me back, I was pretty pissed off.
Anyways see you all there

I'm going to try and make it to the show with my son on Saturday. Note, I said "Show". Just got a new house. There will be no shine on my car :-) :-(
My 84 GSL SE looks good, but it needs new exhaust and all the bushings replaced. I'm hoping to get to it this summer, but there is so much to do around the house....

Its too bad the cruise is on the same day as the first autocross event held by the MCO.
And I work on Saturday so ill miss the show and shine. This sucks.
Im going to try to leave work early so I can attend. Not something I want to miss!

Skip the first MCO Autocross. You can miss 3 and still be in the standings. There are many autocross events, but only one Ottawa Meet and Cruise per year
We had our event posted way before they made up their mind about the first scheduled autocross, and had already moved the date once... otherwise we might have moved the meet to accommodate.

If any of you guys coming to the meet this saturday has a spare TPS for an S5, would you mind bringing it with you? Id like to try it out, and if all goes well, buy it.
DOnt worry about trying to find me; ill be the guy tinkering around under the hood with 3 busted TPSs strewn about.

looks like the turn out will be good from the Ottawa area folk.
most people will start showing up by 2 PM.
for people who can't make it for the 'Show and Shine' in the afternoon, please feel free to stop by the BBQ/party later in the evening.
we will post directions to that and a few more final details shortly...

The Ottawa meet has been slowly dying over the last couple years. I think most people gave up on it because of the 4 straight years of rain. Ironically, this time it was gorgeous on both days.
Still good times tough! Getting up this morning was bruuuuuuuutal.

Yeah, this year the weather was absolutely beautiful I got sunburned so bad, I look like a lobster!
Thanks to everyone who came out. I know I had a blast. Thanks again to Will for offering his place for the BBQ. Thanks to Aaron for helping me plan out the cruise route even though his graduation ceremony kept him from being there.
Merci encore aux Montrealais pour avoir venue. Votre support est apprecie
Big props to the two sets of folks from the GTA. Killer gas prices (and in the case of Jamie and his wife a baby-on-board!) didn't keep them away from what turned out to be an awesome meet. The folks from Mississauga (whose names I unfortunately forgot -again-!) were really cool and we're glad you came up.
To the folks from New Brunswick, good on ya! It's too bad the meet wasn't as big as we were expecting, I hope you had fun anyway.
Hopefully we can rally some folks together next year. Pushing the meet from May into June was exactly what it needed to shake the rain and bring us back to good weather. We're renovating our back yard here this year so maybe next year we can have a BBQ/Pool Party here since Will's won't be available.
I'll post pics later. Hope everyone had a great time.
