This looks perfect for me, but the seller seems to have neglected mentioning the transmission - the low mileage and price make me a little suspicious.

It could very easily have legitimate kilometres since it's a RHD import. The auctions I recently viewed online commonly featured 1992 cars with 70000-120000km.

It has no boost guage to check boost and yet the owner has installed a midpipe, intake, and exhaust. Automatics are generally less beat on but a lot more troublesome to resell\modify.

How much would it cost ($ / aggravation) to switch an automatic to a manual transmission?

A Lot -
cheaper to go look for a Manual if thats what you want. I would be careful with the motor in this one - the km's are getting to the point where you are in rebuild territory - which is likely the case at the price they are asking.

jeez thats right in my area, yet i've never seen, or heard of it...

Mine had 82,000kms on it when I bought it...

auto to man is in the rang of say $2500...

I would suggest just looking for a stick, very few FD were aut, meaning that lots were stick...

Definitely. Somebody else might get a nice ride, though.
