Yes, this thread has an interesting tone.
On the other hand I do personally have a Z10 which I bought February 5th at 9am because I have been a loyal blackberry follower for a while now(not as long as Aaron).
I can say that this phone has definitely increased my productivity and the overall flow of the operating system is very different from others. It has its flaws like every other operating system, but overall its pretty good.

I started a thread on crackberry showing some tips. It will be an ongoing thread but here is where it currently is. I just started making the videos yesterday but I will keep plugging away.

Holy cow I just found this trick when trying to make fine adjustments and edit your message. Simply brilliant.
http://www.berryreview.com/2013/04/0...ting-a-breeze/
Minimize the keyboard
http://tinypic.com/player.php?v=dlrwvt&s=6
I know of three ways to hide the keyboard on the z10.
1) Two Finger Swipe down on the keyboard
2) Hold down the space bar for a second or two
3) Tap the body of the text in a bbm message or txt message (my personal favorite)
Navigate around the home screen quickly
http://tinypic.com/player.php?v=21j6kna&s=6
If you put your finger on the dots AND THEN SLIDE it left to right the pane you are on changes. For example I have SIX panes of apps on my phone. I can slide my finger on the dots and the panes change. This also works for accessing the hub. Or you can simply tap the dot you want to go to. Example I have an app in the last pane, I can simply tap it instead of swiping repeatedly.
Calendar:
Pinch gesture in the Week view tab that lets you zoom in and out of the daily view.
Also if you have been living under a rock you might not know this......If you have BBM Groups setup and you enter a calendar event you can select your BBM Group. This will put the event on every Blackberry in the group. I do this with my family so we can keep organized.
Word prediction
When typing a word that you want to use and the phone does not recognize it will automatically switch the word for you when the space bar is pressed. This drove me nuts at times because I know I wanted to keep the word I had typed. To keep a word you typed it is a simple gesture. Just swipe up on the spacebar and your word will stay not the one that was suggested. It also seems to go one step further, and adds your word to it's data base for next use.
Word substitution
This has been around for a long time, and can be very useful. I discovered this weekend that the word sub did not seem to work in text messages. For example I use omw = on my way. This works perfectly in bbm, but does not work in text message.FIXED
DNLA
I had been trying to get the play on feature to work, and I have kind of figured it out. First of all both devices need to be on the same network (and obviously support DNLA). I first used my sony blueray player, and it worked ok. I could easily search through my phone via the blue ray, and play music and pictures. I could also use the play on feature from the phone and show the pictures and music. I COULDN'T play videos though.
I then tried it on my PC running W8. I opened up "Media Player" and changed the streaming options. From there I could search, and play ALL CONTENT on my phone perfectly. Using the play on feature worked but was a bit slower and I would occasionally get an error message when I tried to switch to the next song or video. If I hit the play on again it would work without issue.
Browser font size
I made a post about this, and didn't get much of a response but here is the deal. If you change the default font size in the browser it will only work on some web sites. Oddly the couple I tried it on happened to be ones that were responding. So it is hit and miss. I know and like using the reader option but for forums I find it gets a bit messy. It is difficult to read clearly sometimes when people quote another member. Also you lose the links that are in the post. - Still the reader kicks ***, but I would like the font size to work on more sites.
Camera
I must be stupid because it took me almost two weeks to figure out how to zoom. I guess since I was playing with the options so much I changed some settings. As it turns out you can only use the zoom when you are in normal mode. Also there is a burst mode. I found this out when I accidentally took 5 pictures of my crotch lol.
Copy/paste
Another forum member posted this and I thought it was brilliant. When you hold down on a word you will see the blue symbols pop up. If you KEEP HOLDING more and more text will be selected for copying. So simple and so damn good.

Q10 out by the end of April but I didn't bother waiting as there is no indication the features I need will be implimented by then. Activated the 9900 Telus gave me (for free) on Wednesday. Obviously I've used plenty of 9900s before but this is the first keyboarded BB I've used as my daily device since 2008 and as much as I liked my Storm, it sure feels nice to have a keyboard again. For a 2 year old device the 9900 is fast, does more than I need, and is a thoroughly pleasant experience.
I'd really like to know the specifics about what, say, an iPhone does over even a BB7 device. I guess for consumers the iPhone has a zillion apps, a few of which aren't available on BB. Same with Android. But can Android handle 20+ mailboxes? I know iPhone can't.
At this point I don't see a reason to go to a Q10. Especially since I'll have my BB10 fill when it's released for the Playbook approx. mid to late summer.

You don't have to tell me about the Z10's features. Believe me I know them. My issues are similar to Aaron's.
The major one is the limited notification settings. I used to have 3 vibrates for a BBM message, two for a text message and one for an email, so I knew what I had before I took it out of my pocket or holster.

Notifications are slimmer compared to BBos for sure. As for the features you knew about how to move the bubble by tapping on it? Man that blew my mind
Well hopefully someone will find them useful.

Figured this was the appropriate thread to share in. Those who know me know that I live by my Blackberry as it is my primary computing device. First BB was a 957 around 2000/2001, then starting in 2008 I used a Storm 9530, then as of about a week ago I replaced the Storm with a Bold 9900. I keep my devices for a long time and as nice as the Bold is, it looked like every other 9900 out there. At least the 957 was as of 2008 pretty damn ancient and rare, with the 9530 being so unpopular due to the first flawed OS it was released with, it was unique as well in a way as so few were using them.
The 9900 was the top of the line device before the Z10 so I decided it needed a little high-end flash (bling?). I had the stainless steel side trim ring heavily plated in 24K gold. It wasn't too expensive (under $150) but man, was it ever a pain in the ***. That trim actually forms the chassis of the phone so the whole thing had to come to pieces. Not my first rodeo in taking apart a Blackberry. But unlike previous models the 9900's side buttons were run by a flexible circuit that ran around the inside of the trim (previously the buttons were on the main board). That flexible circuit was secured using microscopic T1 (!!!) screws. Little did I know it was also glued in place, leading me to break it upon removal. Thankfully I had a spare fried 9900 I could salvage the part from.
I'm biased, but I think the gold subtly adds a bit of elegance to the device.
(Don't mind my neon green theme...found it on AppWorld and it matched my uranium glass wallpaper so well I just had to give it a go).

I live on my 9900 Bold for work. I had a torch before but it was junk. Coming from an iphone it took me awhile to learn the intricasies of the operating system. I have a couple bones to pick with it, but overall its good, and very tough. I've been through a few pieces of glass on the screen but the chassis has held together. I do not use a protective case because it impedes the ability to put it in my pockets. The speaker is toast (not sure why, extreme, rapid changes in tempurature maybe). So it sounds like its underwater when it rings.
I miss the user friendlyness of my iphone in a pinch (mainly the gps programs, although the blackberry maps program is more accurate, just harder to use in a pinch). I hate how social apps take forever to load pictures and sometimes they don't load at all and you have to retry. My camera sucks (probably from work usage) I have to manual focus by moving the phone closer or away haha.
Overall not bad. The reason I requested the 9900 is you can wifi hotspot and I needed that to uplink my laptop to access work programs (cat sis and cummins quickserve). We had to activate that feature with the service provider, like all the other features.

Aaron I found the cousin to your phone.
White or black not enough? Check out the BlackBerry Q10 in 24kt gold | CrackBerry.com
Marco, On the Q10 you can take a screen capture by pressing both the volume up and down buttons at the same time.

I actually dropped the damn thing at my shop last week and the top corner hit the concrete. The impact made a small dent and a gouge right through the plating about 1MM square. Sigh. Oh well, these things happen. Meh, if it was an iPhone I'd be installing a new screen, so I guess I can't complain.

I also do it when I see something funny and I want to share it with friends (and I don't want to send a link). Great for sharing snippets of conversations

If you scroll down to the comments section, you'll see I commented when the article was first published. With the useless hand crafted wood box included, I expect the gold Q10 price to be a bit ridiculous.

Same as the Z10 and Playbook.

Oddly enough I'm not a big fan of blackberrys the berry.
10.2 brings some major improvements to notifications but I still don't see holster awareness. My 957 running BBOS 2 could set notifications based on holster/no holster! Also tasks in BB remember can now have both a due date and time. So getting there. I am very happy with my 9900 though so at this point I don't see the need to upgrade. As a long time user I'm just not sure I want to completely switch how my BlackBerry operates.
Oh, an I don't see a way in 10.2 to create a mailbox outside the hub. That's a pretty key feature for me.
The Q10 is an awesome device though and now that it's out I'm starting to make proposals to customers for BES10 installations. Only annoyance with is that it requires Server 2008 R2, on a separate box/virtual box than previous versions. For customers who can't justify another server I guess I'll just have to grudgingly open ActiveSync to the Internet. I've been very reluctant to do that for other phones and typically have them VPN into the network. But obviously I can't continue this approach and will just have to deal with the security headache that opening ActiveSync causes.
