$50 in your pocket!

I might be slightly crazy but I can not stand waiting. With that said I am willing to pay you $50 if you find me a store that is willing to sell me a new BlackBerry Z10 phone BEFORE Feb 4th.

Send me a pm with the store/contact and I will pay you $50 for it. Funds can be sent via PayPal or cash once I get the phone.

While I am in Cambridge I am willing to travel a couple of hours to said store.

It could cost somebody their job to do this you know, especially now that you have asked on the interwebs. I wouldn't risk my job for $50.

Its just a freakin' phone........

^ I didn't ask anyone to broadcast that they had a source or asked anyone to start up some sort of high traffic under ground program.

Besides many people decide to do things outside the lines on a regular basis. Many of those choices could impact their lives and have no financial benefits, either.

Anyway, if you can help let me know.

Actually iPhone is getting taken over by Samsung and all the other competing phones... People are starting to get tired of the one single iPhone that hasn't changed in 6 years.

I like my blackberry and will never use anything else unless required. I'm waiting for the keyboard version of the bb10.

The blackberry interface has been completely changed. Also, nor more BIS / BES, making email's much easier to associate to its device. Iv'e played with the phone (z10 full screen)a cpl weeks ago. transitions between programs and applications are very smooth.Clean, crisp display. The oS is radically different than previous OS's. Will take some time to get used to it(like all new OS). BB is Wi fi and data accessible now. Free
BB calling to other BB contacts (world wide), free BB video calling(world wide).

Honestly its a nice device and can go round for round with any phone out there right now. The problem is though, its getting the lost fans back. I am confident once they play with the device, they will return to it. Even None BB fans will enjoy the phone. IOS and Android aps available, so they finally decided to conform and adapt to the consumers needs for a change9none business perspective that is).

Oh you can find leagl BB 10's for sale right now, just not form the stores. Check kijiji. last night i spoke with someone who sold their s for 650(not an alpha too).

It would be nice to see RIM do well, so I hope this new BB works. I have a friend doing his engineering internship working on some BB products with a company they contract out for some stuff... I also want his job after he's done with the internship.

Also.. I'm an android/galaxy nerd now that I've had mine for a couple years. Would never buy an iPhone.

I can't believe intelligent people get caught up in all the media hype with the latest and greatest phones/devices. My Samsung II does pretty well everything I need a phone to do and many things I will never use. I can think of better thing to waste my money on, but each to their own!

Your car is likely fast to many people but that doesn't stop us from wanting to make them even quicker. The new berry looks great. I like shiney, new toys. On a site dedicated to Rx7's it isn't hard to imagine how one can stretch the same affection they feel in a car to other material items

Just giving you and others a hard time, I had a basement full of outdated technology up to last year, I junked it all! I'm trying hard not to fall into the trap anymore.

Boys and their toys, like I said each to their own.

ourxseven,

I was basically trying to poke fun at the people who think Crackberry has a chance to re-enter the market. I'm guessing you're a crackberry user?? Love the feel of a keyboard the size of a playing card?? Love how the device decides to hang and reboot on its own??
As RXeckless said, to each their own.

Zhe,

Take it you're a Droid user?? Or have you had an iphone but decided against it??

I remember when the iPhone first came out. I was sporting a Razr. But my old man got his from a friend who went to Cali. I have to admit, the first time I saw it I didn't understand all the craze. But if I only saw where it was going. At the time Crackberry was starting to come into its own. And I can't stress enough how much they sucked!! Huge!! I can't tell you how many of them I had to replace, troubleshoot, and fix. But people kept on buying them and using them because they needed their email right now. Right away.
I could care less about it. I wasn't going to get a device where the only benefit was getting email on the fly. Texting wasn't a huge thing yet and the devices were basically bricks. I loved my thin Razr for it. I loved it so much, I "upgraded" to Razr2 shortly after.

After getting hired at another company, their decision was to deploy iPhones, and later iPads, to the field. I was still very much against the iPhone. Didn't see too much appeal. But by now the apps and texting were starting to become a huge thing to have. So the company moved me from my Razr2 to a new iPhone4. Then, and only then, I understood what my old man saw when he first got the device. The iPhone is a thing of beauty!! It does everything you ask it to do when you want it. I wasn't aware how much easier it was carrying my iPhone than it was the Razr2.
Not only that, but when they deployed the iPad, I rarely had to use my laptop for anything other than downloading and watching movies. Which its basically been reverted too.

I don't know why people have such a hate on for the iPhone. There's a reason why it has dominated the market. More than Crackberry ever did. And all without charging its customers an arm and a leg.

This is Crackberry's last ditch effort. I know there are people out there saying "be pro Canadian.. blah blah blah". I hated RIM in the begining, and it hasn't changed since they changed their name to Crackberry. I could care less where the device came from. I just want it to work when I need it. Which will never be the case with Crackberry.

And not to rule out the Droid fans, I took Jelly Bean for a spin. And it lacks the finish iOS has. The reactions are not as smooth. It's getting better. But still not at the point where iOS is.
Not to mention their devices are huge!!! I mean, I might as well be carrying the iPad mini around in my pocket. Way too big for a cellphone device.

I'm going to wait to see what the new iPhone6 or even 7 will be like.. might upgrade then. My 4S (company let me do an upgrade before I left) does everything I ask it too.

The iphone has been the same phone since 2007. If they don't change or do a refresh then there is a great change your iphone6 or 7 might just be the same phone with different specs.

It would be a good time for them to do a UI refresh, time will tell.

Not sure what phone I would get. I have owned an iphone and I'm not a fan. I wanted to try W8 but having that on my computer has been frustrating so I dunno. HTC and Samsung make some good phones too.

But for now I want the Z10. They are in stores now. I got to see one yesterday but they wouldn't sell it.

mr.zoom,

not in the least! If Lenovo buys them out, they'll get stripped of everything and sold for more money.

Was never a fan of Stinkpads either. These are all brands I've had to support for a very long time.. and I've never had to deal with them on a personal bases since they were shotty to begin with.

Double_J,

How come they wouldn't sell you the Z10? Only model they had??

What you don't realize is that the iphone hasn't changed its OS ever. People are beginning to get bored with it, all they have been doing is upgrading hardware and making a few software tweaks. Look at the Iphone 5, it may as well have nees called the IPhone 4SS. what did they do, give it a better camera and screen and send it on its way.

The new blackberry's are brand new. Not a single line of code has been transferred from the old operating system. The separation between person and work is amazing, it has the most apps for a brand new operating system and has been tested at length over the past year. Its also not really about the phone, it's the OS that is important for BB.

There you go. You've hit the nail on the head. People are getting bored. That's the number 1 reason why anyone would want to change a perfectly good working smartphone.
And yes, the software is just as important as the hardware. I agree with this a lot.

Knowing crack berry from past experience, their software might be the next best thing since sliced bread, but I know the hardware will not keep up with it. Or vice versa.
I'm not the only 1 feeling this. The general public are well aware of it too. As the stock keeps falling like a rock.

I see a variety of things happening to crack berry. Longevity is not 1 of them. They will eventually become as irrelevant as Nokia. Remember those guys?? They were the company to have when this whole mobile phone business came to pass.

The future lyes with either apple or google. Everyone else is just along for the ride.

one thing is for sure , its going to be interesting to revisit this thread in 6 months . My bet is the international market and north american business market will stay or come back to BB.

To boost consumer sales in the US , BB should have got Kim Kardashian to endorse it ......... thats just how F'uked up america is right now .

there is also going be a sh$t load of money made trading the stock between now and then, up down , up down , up down , and nothing to do with the general public

I'm not Canadian, but I've been through all 3 mfgr's of the phones being talked about.

I enjoyed my Blackberry back in the day. The iPhone put it to shame. That was a great shiny toy. Then I was tired of ATT and was switching carriers, didn't know what I'd do without my iPhone. I got an Android and have never looked back.

The OOTB customization available in Android makes the iPhone look like my nephews LeapPad (I think that even has more customizations!). Then if you get into rooting...the possibilities are literally endless. I'm running JB 4.2.1 on a two year old HTC Sensation, overclocked to 1.9ghz...for my daily. iPhone 5 users (coworkers and friends) are amazed at the speed, functionality and smoothness of it.

iPhone is old.

I have high hopes for RIM and Ubuntu (re)entering the mobile market, Firefox not so much (I never liked them).

-Edit-
I've also got an iPad2 (well, it's my sons), so I'm plenty up to date on all the iOS functionality. He enjoys using my rooted Kindle Fire (running...surprise...JellyBean 4.2.1) half the time as well.

ha! simpletons, sharp makes the best phone in my book, and my newest phone the sharp zeta sh-02e, blows the samsung s3 out of the water.

i find it funny when i find people debating about whats the best phone and only ever list samsung, apple, and rim. what about mitshubishi electric, fujitsu, htc, lg, motorola, nec, nokia, panasonic, sanyo, sharp, sony, and toshiba.

while there are a bunch in there that i wouldnt put near being the best, there are a bunch that are. mainly being (that im sure of) sharp, nokia, toshiba, fujitsu, maybe lg?

if your interested in the specs of my sh-02e (just so you can see) heres a link: Kyoex - Shop Buy Docomo Sharp SH-02E IGZO Aquos Phone Zeta Japanese Phone

now lets talk phones, bwaahahahahaha!
