yeah, I am almost never on 202 except when going to the bank for work. I mostly hang out in New Castle and Newark. So that wan't your car? hmm, we have another owner in the area. So far I know we have Shane down by the beach with a LQ9 FC, my LS1 SA, your 13B FC, another nameless FD (silver) that I seen on faulklin road. not many of us around. Are you intending on attending the DC trip in two weeks?

Strange issue after replacing the clutch..my wideband is wacky and all over the place. I'm really not sure what I could have unplugged that would cause it to jump around. The strange thing is that it doesnt seem to be accurate to what the car is seeing. the only thing I can think of is it is acting as a narrowband....I'll have to plug in and see if thats the case.
Here are some pictures from the replacement, cause who doesnt love pictures?
it was a bit nerve racking lifting the car up. my driveway has a slight slope, i was afraid it wouldnt stay while lifting it.
I managed to manhandle the trans down by myself. I had the jack very poorly placed, and it would not balance on the jack.
how bad does this look? I think it was the original clutch. Car has almost 100k miles. Decent life left but looks like it may have been overheated. The throw out bearing had some play, not much - and thankfully the hum it made is gone. The fingers has a bit of wear on the opposite side.
In goes the ClutchMasters FX300. Keep in mind this is still the NA drivetrain. I dont plan on launching the car so I think the NA drivetrain will hold up. I would like to get an LSD in the rear though.
I had the transmission out in the yard as well while I cleaned it. I wish I had more time to keep it out and clean everything up. I really want to invest in a sandblaster.

So I got a manual boost controller since my electronic one hasnt been working. It boosts to 7psi.........then shoots up to 15 psi. I'm not sure if my actuator is stuck, or its just overboosting that bad as a hybrid turbo. Tomorrow I think I have to pull the turbo off, port the wastegate thoroughly and put it back together.
I have 10 days.....gotta port the wastegate, get it tuned this weekend, finish the 5 lug swap and hope I can fix the oil leak while the turbo is out.

This weekend was quite eventful! Thursday I got a call from Jim at JPR saying we can tune it saturday. Friday I had to take apart the turbo to port the wastegate. Upon disassembly This happened...
Luckily the threads were salvageable after dremeling 95% of the bolt out and retapping those threads. I managed to get the car done by 4AM saturday, and was at JPR by noon. I think we spent more time tracking down a vacuum leak than we did tuning. Props to Wilmer for the great tune! We had another small issue, though. And that was the boost still continued to creep up to 20PSI by 5k rpms...Eventually we had to leave and I was upset that we werent able to figure out my overboost. However today I figured it out!
It turns out I didnt have the twin scroll actuator attached, so it was actually closing off the runner when any boost was made. Once I wired that open it pulled a solid 15 psi! To finish it off, I got a chance to pick up some different lug nuts and put on my enkei's ive had sitting around for quite some time...
All thats left to do is fix a small oil leak, and put the 5 lug stuff on the rear and I'll be ready for the track day on the 29th! I was afraid I wouldnt make it, but I think I'm in the clear now

It was a street tune that was done, I am working a little deal with a friend to get a free trip to a dyno to see what I put down. The cost of the tune was $300. It idles great, pulls great, and well worth the money to know it was done by a pair of guys who know what the bad stuff sounds like, how to avoid it and make sure its done properly.

I'm actually using a megasquirt, I decided to go that route in case I ever decide to upgrade in the future. This way I dont have to worry about upgrading the ECU. All I gotta do is slap on a new turbo/intercooler and go.
I raced my buddies turbo cobalt last night. its putting down 310hp/389ftlb of torque. He took me off the line, but around 100 mph the gap stopped. By then we would let off so I couldnt catch up. My map is super rich in the lower boost area, and I think that is killing my torque. I'd like to get it on a dyno and see what it makes...I think the HP is there, but the torque is lower than normal.

Well Friday night I went to the track, was kind of disappointed. I'm the right lane. This was my best run of the night... I was looking at the time slips forum and someone ran a 12.89 at 113 with similar mods (biggest difference being FMIC)...Not sure if I'm upset about the tune, or what...I think its a combination of that and the TMIC thats killing me. Need to get on a dyno to see waht this is putting down...

Welp...cracked my rear iron last night. Sucks it was rebuilt less than 10k miles ago. At least it didnt blow a seal. Would it be a good idea to pick up turbo irons and elimnate the 6 ports, or just pick up another s4 (or s5?) rear iron? I was using the autotune feature in tunerstudio and I guess it leaned it out a little too much, or something...
I'm upset, but now I can rebuild it and use the proper soft seals etc.

The autotune feature in Tuner Studio will only adjust the fuel bins to what you set the AFR map to. If you had too lean of an AFR map, that could have been the cause.
Or it could have been the 15+ psi at 170*F that you were experiencing, in which case.... you blew it up like I said would happen
Only one thing to do now. Keep the training wheels off and get back up on it for another attempt
That sucks, but at least it's not going to cost that much to fix.

Hey Brian is it 6 port or a 4 port iron? I'm not sure if its worth going to the 4 port irons or not....maybe someone can chime in? Regardless, I'm glad I didnt blow an apex seal, and I'd like to open it up and clean up the crappy port job that was done.
I'm really not that mad or upset about what happened. If anything, I'm glad. Now I have a reason to keep it in my dads garage
Looks like I'll have plenty of time to do a vmount now!

sooooo....started disassembly...Thinking of removing the AC...how difficult is that? I assume I need to find a new bracket for the PS to attach to? I'd like to relocate it to the lower spot if possible. Any tips are welcome...
P.S. sorry my pictures are so shitty. I need a new camera, or phone. or both
