not an entire lot done today/this week. I just put an order from j-auto for some parts to start step one of many steps of my build..

anyways...I realized that removing the sound dampening stuff from the floor board was not really that hard....Since it has been in the high 90's in Minnesota it came off easy....

took around 30 minutes to do the rear hatch section...

I took off some other stuff too, but did not take a pic of it...I plan on going over to my dads and working on taking apart the rear I picked up earlier this week.....need to get that prepped as well...

a propane torch won't warp cast aluminum, especially since the rubber will burn off long before any damage would be done

Just cut them down the centre if your scared of using a torch. And your not supposed to use a torch on suspension components. So unless it's the llast resort don't use it.

Yea I plan on doing that tomorrow. there is rubber a metal piece then the rubber...I just need to find the right tool to cut it without causing damage to the arm

anyways a little more work I did today...it was extra hot so I did not get much accomplished.

I didn't mean to puta torch to the control arm, just to set the bushings on fire if they were stuck. Sounds like you figured it out though, nice work.

So I just figured I had an extra hour before I needed to get ready for class to try and get more of the sound crap off the floorboards.

here is what it came out like in about an hour to an hour and half.

sadly as you can see that there is a set of rust spots that found their way thru my floorboards...this means more cutting and welding for me

anyways sorry for this cluttered pic lol

anyways this is how she looks now....have not finished the front driver side because I have not pulled the wires thru my fire wall

Dude dry ice works awesome for sound deadener. You break it up and spread it on the deadener then smash it right off with a hammer. Dry ice is available from any welding supply place. And use Kerosene to clean up the residue of the deadener.

I know .....but I could not find any supplier in Minnesota that sold dry ice.......

I have kerosene, but would it be alright to just sand blast my interior to get that residue up

Funny story today...

so as I was having my dad pull out my motor/tranny today I realized I forgot to unhook on of the harnesses from the engine bay

I nearly pulled the car off the stands and made it fall onto the ground

but I did manage to get it out without doing that!!!

its going to be going forsale, but I have no idea what it is worth

anyways...my car now sits sideways lol

Lookin good dude. Don't sand blast in your interior you'll regret it. Brush kerosene on the tar and let it sit for awhile most of it will come off.

Why would i regret it? I would like to get the paint off inside tho? Is there a reason not to? is it just a mess or would that too warp the metal?

I know this place "Blastmasters" said they sandblast the interior and soda blast the exterior....so i was trying to save some money and do the interior/enginebay wheel wells and some of the bottom myself..

hahaha ok "how do you know?"

well...I may just do the engine bay and under then...let the blastmasters do the rest...

either way my entire car is going to get repainted....so thats why i am pretty concerned of getting "all" of the paint off that I can...
