The scoops are Butler NASCAR brake ducts actually. I ordered them from Pegasus Racing and I believe they were around $25. I cut the holes before they arrived, based on the diagram on the website, if I had it to do over again I would cut an oval hole and match it to the size of the inlet to provide a larger mounting surface.

Went to visit my buddy in Orlando (tested the ducts and confirmed oil pressure on the way) to see his new house. I was expecting better mpg considering...
Oh well, 19 mpg isn't terrible, but considering I get 17 mpg city, something seemed off.
Anyways, here's a shot after I arrived....still pretty rough
Not so bad from the rear...

A couple years ago I bought some side skirts that wer advertised as RE Amemiya, when they arrived I didn't know what they were, but they were NOT RE. I thought about selling them , but since I didn't know what they were I figured it might be difficult, plus I got them for cheap, so I just stashed them in a shed. [I later discovered they were Kaminari skirts]
Fast forward.... I'm sick of looking at those dented rocker panels so a few coats of primer, some triming ( I guess they were made for S4 trim) and a few coats of duplicolor and...
Much improved I think...

wow! lots of great ideas and fab work on this build,i just did the evaporust trick on my 88GXL which has been sitting for last 15 yrs,did it with the tank still in the car so it didn't come out as good as yours looks in pics, the pump assembly unit opening in the top of the tank has razor sharp edges I discovered as I tried to clean the best I could by hand and have serious cuts about a foot up my arm all over im hoping the rust will stay away once I fill it up with fuel? in the meantime I sprayed stabil fogging spray all throughout it

Thanks for the compliments guys.
Southside: yikes! Yeah the tank edges can be treacherous! They're is no way to properly clean the tank without removing it...unless you have 16 gallons of evapo rust, lol. Hopefully the rust status at bay for you though.
Turbo: the gauge pod is FC specific and was made by a forum member ian99rt iirc a few years back.

A while later I was @ the junk yard when she decided she didn't want to start. If course this was in the pouring rain and I had to use a 4 foot breaker bar to hit the starter from the top to get it to turn over.....never again
Lifetime warranty ftw

I remember this day. Nothing like bashing on a starter in the rain in the ghetto lol

Finally got around to installing my BOV since the flange hadn't arrived when the piping was put together. Found this HKS ssq in the junk yard actually, 100 forum points to anyone who can guess what it was on.
Also started having intermittent breakup at higher boost/rpm ... narrowed it down to a fuel issue. I then remembered that I didn't actually replace the fuel pump sock when I renovated the fuel system ,instead I called myself "cleaning it" since the parts store was out and I needed to get back on the road. ***Do NOT ever consider doing that*** the end result is that all the crap formerly suspended in the filter is forced into the suction area.
Of course I had to clean the fuel system again and also took the opportunity to upgrade my 550/720 setup to 4 x 750 since I got a deal on them and it meant less down time than waiting on the 720s to be sent off for cleaning. (For some reason the sediment only selected the secondaries
Good news is, the inside of the tank still looks awesome!
I put the fuel system back together while waiting for the flange to cool so I could install the BOV
Installed!
And yes, that IS what you thought it was...

After that I just kinda left her alone for a bit as I focused on finding a new job. I still found time to go to a few gatherings though...
My brother's car
Headed down to Rotor Fest in Orlando, in good company I think, lol. I was trying to set my HKS EVC 1 (yes, 1!) on the way down, but it kept spiking past 17 psi. I decided not to participate in the dyno runs, obviously.
Local meet with some other 7's
Almost forgot, I DID do some work on her. I heard some strange squealing that persisted, despite changing the belts and applying dressing, guess there was another problem...
The freaking pulley ended up bonding itself to the alt shaft, so despite the alternator working perfectly fine, I had to go out and buy a new one, and a new pulley. This time I opted for the unit sold by Japan2la, works perfect and no squeals.
Random shot from an impromtu photo shoot my friend decided to do
.....now the real fun starts

Still, they are nice skirts. Here was a pic on my old TII swapped base model SE the day I sold it. I never saw another car with these skirts, even online!
