It's most likely not going to be a turbo rotary engine, so I would have to replace the gauge.

Well, if your gauge is broken, yes. The gauge will still work from NA to turbo. I have a turbo drivetrain in my convertible, and mine works like a champ.

Sorry... off topic, I know.

I hate to even say it on here, because I know I'll get flamed and made fun of because everyone and their mother are purists, and I am too, but I'm probably going to put an SR20DET in the car, because I can't afford the maintenance on the rotary engine. I love the car and the engine to death, but I can't afford it. I'm a bit of a purist myself, but I gotta do what I gotta do.

If money is of a concern, good luck with a cross-make engine swap

My rotarys never cost anymore to maintain than any of my other engines?

Do you have to buy premix for your other engines?

My stock s5 I never bought premix. But if you're worried about $5 premix then maybe you should buy a bus pass.
Good luck with your build anyways

Premix does not cost $5, and if that was my only reason I would be a complete moron. Everyone and their mother thinks they know what is best for everyone else.

I thought of swapping in another engine, but I couldn't see swapping in a v8, I would prefer a 6 or 4. A guy I know did a nissan I6 swap I found out after mentioning my intentions and he brought up a lot of costs.. So I decided to stay :P
I will, however, be watching this build intently because I'd like to see it happen!
Another reason I stayed with the rotary is because I like being different and explaining my car to people. I'm just "special" lol

And just so we all know, this non-rotary engine swap isn't definite. This isn't like it's happening tomorrow. I still have a lot of researching, planning, and saving to do. I very well might change my mind.

no new updates. Saving up my money because I need to buy a clutch. Haven't bought anything new or done anything new. Working out my idle issue. Will update as necessary.

Not sure if I want the S4 aero's or the S5. I don't know how I'm going to decide. After finally seeing a pair of S5's in person, I became unsure of putting those on my car.

Got my clutch:

Not sure when I'm popping this puppy in, but at least I have it. It's reassuring.

Put my new clutch in on Wednesday. Everything is a-ok, but my trans pissed trans fluid all over me so I had to order all new seals. I'm hoping they'll be here Monday, because she's sitting until I get them. Here are some pics from Wednesday after it was put in:

I don't have the money, and, I decided I wouldn't like a non-rotary RX7. Guess that's the purist in me, huh?

If you really are interested, I'm asking $1500 for the shell. Pictures and a thread will be up soon.
