Just the basics

So today i went into the shop thinking i would just fix my horn, then remembered i had that new turbo intake pipe! so spent a little time and effort squeezing that in there, alot better response and you can hear the turbo spooling now! and mocked up where i might throw my gauges, and a picture of the whole car, sorry for the shitty cell phone pics, didnt have my camera. and the car needs a wash... next will be RacingBeat turbo back system(on its way), bov, and gauges.

Custom intake? That's where I have my boost gauge! I'm planning on putting my wide-band in the door vent though...

Looking good!

Riz.

Not custom, CorkSport makes them. Takes a little time and effort to get it in there. and the little hose it came with to recirc the blow off was too short so i just went to the parts store and picked up a bigger piece. i want to put my gauges on the a pillar like most cars but our a pillars are so damn thin that pods dont fit, but i have access to fiberglass/foam at work so i may still use the pillar but it will take some work.

Keep the gauges where they are! A-pillar mounted gauges is ricey in my opinion. Everyone has them on their Honda and they don't even work. Lol

id like to get my hands on another insturment cluster bezel so i can mess with it and see how it will work out with the boost/wideband gauges, before i go making anything permanent.

Well today was spent putting the shiny new RacingBeat exhaust on!!! sounds awesome, spools like a som-a-bitch, and at idle you cant even tell its there! such a nice system. i would recommend this to anyone! i did hit FC on the drive home, so tomorrow ill throw the FCD in there. slideshow below contains pics from above and the new ones.

Did you port the wastegate before you put on the full racingbeat system?

If you didnt, and didn't do any fuel mods, and going to put on a fcd, you should consider your engine toast..

The TID is really nice. Almost bought one myself, but decided to build something myself. It's nice for us "stock-ish" guys.

no porting or fuel mods yets. i have yet to even romp on this sence putting the FCD in. After the exhaust went on, i hit FC once, so i put it on. but knowing what can happen now that my car wont slap me on the wrist for being too hard on it, i take it easy. until i can get the supporting mods

Porting the wastegate is really easy and doesn't take too long and can be done really cheap.

little update. changed my mind on gauge placement, got my hands on another cluster bezel so i can tinker without destroying my original. boost on one side, A/F on the other.
gonna take a little work/fab/fiberglass, but its different!

Did you skip the parts about boost creep and overboost?

I know you say that you "baby it"... But you do understand that it is precautionary work rather than a performance modification?

didnt skip that, known about it for a while. and yes i understand its precaution over performance.as stated no issues thus far and i plan to run it as is until another stock turbo, or already ported one shows up so i can just do the work off the car then throw it on. or i go completely after market with an externaly gated turbo, mani, fuel setup, blah blah blah.
