KY first rx7 build!

any input or ideas for better parts is much appreciated!

picked up a s5 rust free soft black leather int, for 200 cash bought a tII motor for aruond 500 and a tII trans for 350

i took my rear housing (flywheel side) off and this is what i found

i think that rotor is junk now? it was a stock 13b and ALSO the rear housing has a crack in it above the intake port for like a future bridge port which what my plan was next year (looks like itll have to be done sooner lol)

also the coolant seal blew from the top almost right next to the intake port, my research says it will blow on the bottom right side, still have not heard of one blowing that far up.

My plan for this car was to do a complete tII drivetrain swap
good size bridge port
assuming something around the size of a gt42r turbo
megasquirt? haltechs are 1500 is it really worth it?
1000cc prim 720cc sec. injectors not enough fuel?
4in downpipe to 3.5 in exhaust
wideband
manual boost gauge
WHAT ELSE DO I NEED
I NEED DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE FENDERS
s5 front and rear bumper
s5 taillights
what are a good aftermarket rim selection this car is 5 lug
when its all said and done i would like to be around 600whp I have big dreams for this car and done days..scratch that weeks of research on this engine and how to take them apart and why they have "reliability" issues.
Fairly green to websites atkinsrotary mazdatrix, rcengineering,b&r supercars any other sites? also will be looking for a sponsor for this car Help get someones name out there and get the rotary scene goin in louisville and get this car on a magazine

thanks for the help

Dave

rims depend on your style and what your budget is.....good luck with your project...Im building my first 7 as well....

oh and did you happen to get the harness(s) for the swap? or the ECU?

could have spend a little more money to get the complete swap online IMO....I do have some fenders that are red in color if I can get them off ahah....Ill let you know if they are in salvageable condition if you interested in buying them... or you could just get the aftermarket wide-body ones.

thanks man you too, I have the T2 harness and the s5 n/a harness i bought the parts off someone I knew, i rather did that then spend 1600 on a motor that probably needs rebuilt anyways. I thought about the widebody but idk if it would look goofy with just a widebody front i have never seen one to be honest. but yea if there not rusted out or anything im in the market.
pretty sure my rims are 5x114 wanna go for something like the xxr 530s

People usually put the larger injectors on the secondary rail, I think to make it easier to tune a smooth operating low RPM range.

I have a black passenger side fender that's a little beat up. I'd give it to you for $30 plus shipping. Driver's side is available, but it's pretty crunched to hell.

Just do your research, and never stop. There's always more to learn. You can get wide rears cheaper than that:

starting out with rotaries and a GT42. best of luck to you.. injectors are backwards and too small for that size turbo also.

set aside a bank account just for your car and keep putting money into it.

don't count on sponsors. you need to prove yourself as a builder/driver first, sponsors don't just chuck things at anyone who asks. i've seen some kids get lucky with sponsorships who abuse it, trashing the **** they are given or selling it off just for the cash, makes me shake my head because it ruins it for the sponsor and those looking to eventually get sponsored.

Sponsorship in this day and age is very difficult to come by, especially for a dying, niche market like the FC.
Money is tight, there are no "new" rotaries...who exactly is a business supposed to be marketing to?

When I was racing, the worst thing I saw was rookies showing up with fairings covered in stickers because they looked like racers, not because they had gotten any support. If you'll display a company's name for free, why should they pay you to do so?

Any company that has money or lustworthy product has already been approached a billion times for some sort of sponsorship.
You'd better be very good and have a polished presentataion to stand any chance of success at all.

I have an account made already for the rx7, I have the guidance of a friend whos older and has racing/building expierence with fd's and fc's..with the size of the crack above the intake port we think anything less than a gt42r will be a waste of money after we port the crack out. it would just get all the air sucked out of it. And I understand I wasnt honestly expecting a sponsor to say "yea lets give money to this kid who doesnt even have a car put together yet!" More looking for guidance on how to get a sponsor..Im not a typical kid, youll see, in about 3 or 4 months time this car will be running and be painted I have a second job just to get this car put together.

Hopefully when this is running and I start getting my name out (around louisville theres no fast fcs or fds for that matter) When I get approached by someone Im sure they'll be more than pleased with my enthusiam and the car than stands beside me to backup my hardwork.

i figured start from the ground up so every piece to this car I will have touched when its said and done, and for me thats the best way to gain expierence and knowledge.

Good luck on the build dude! Looks like fun, can't wait to get my hands on one of these cars and get some real experience. Building it from the group up is going to make you an expert in no time.

I appreciate it man! Once you take one apart and turn the eccentric shaft its pretty neat I'm glad I got into it. Good luck with your search

lol not sure how this happens on a stock motor..i researched the issue and i came up with "rotor slap" but that doesnt happen on stock motors, all the motors have been 600hp+
