Any plans to build a partition between you and that potential fireball in the rear hatch area?

@pontiackid,

cusco, 5-point. It has been cancelled tough, and today ordered somewere else. I am done waiting after 7 months :S It wil also be a bit custom as cusco cages are made for RHD cars. Atleast, i hope they can do that.

@broke,

Not sure, can't find the quote. Here's a tip, buy some rope, and lay it down as you want it, then cut it and messure the lenght. Slightly longer then that and you know what to order. I do know that it was AN03.

@sharingan,

Not yet. Well, actualy, with this kind of trunk its hard to figure out a nice way to do it but there is a plan that popped up in my head but that is something for later.

Also new update:

Done a lot. Like said, cage cancelled and ordere somewere else.

Bought 1.5L filler and paint with all the needed stuff including a nice paint gun. If everything goes well i might also paint the outside myself later on.

Welded extra stress plates to the floor in case i want to buy some crutch straps to add to the 4-point harness

suspension parts are coated, aluminum is brushed and painted. Removed all the bearings and bushings. Will try to press in poly bushes into the wishbones tomorow so i can take all that crap home. Next week a week of to try to paint as much as i can. After that i will press in the new bearings and remaining bushings.

Also 2 layers of undercoating on the floorpanels.

to be continued

4 nuts keep the front subframe (only) in place. But dont forget all the other crap that is fixed both on subframe and chassis.

Got the tranny appart, and recieved my last fuel hose

So now i am going to make that last hose, and then remove everything so i can start cleaning and sanding in preperation for the painting of the inside / engine bay and some undercoating for the rear end bottom.

nice man! i think I will save money and clean up with just sanding the inside as you had and then prime and paint! awesome build and I like the video haha...

I also noticed you painted the bottom black...I know my cousin owns a autobody/paint shop and he puts a rust proof coat on then paints over that so the car is all one color. Do you plan on just having the bottom black or are you going to paint it the same color?

There is no need to give it a certain colour.

Black is fine

That's looking very good!
I wonder what you are building this car for though, doesn't look like the shell is build for time attack or something like that, but the fuel system doesn't seem to be build for normal street use either

Starting off with a cusco cage first to play around a bit. Track day, drift day.

Maby later a full weld in cage

Oh yea, also street legal.

I've seen someone from Japan selling "cusco" cage's on eBay. Any thought on those? Apparently they have to cut them in half in order to ship them over seas

Anyways...keep up the good work!

Parts are slowely finding its way back to the car. Starting with the fuel system.

Got a week off, going on a road trip to spain, after that we can start working hard. It feels like a race to the finish.

Got a couple of things done after a week off.

Dash is in, fuel tank is in primer, made carbon plate for the radio panel. Also bought an OMP foot plate. Looks nice and functional aswell, not sure how to secure it tough.

Fuel tank is placed back in position, all connected.

Cleaned and painted the transmission housing.

And made 1 brake (hard) line from master cilinder to the bulkhead fitting were it goes into stainless braided hose.

Better update

Finnished the transmission rebuild. Made brake lines, painted them and fitted them with new clamps.

And have been working on the rear suspension.

yea its temporarily to get it driveble.

Decided to buy a coilover set from a dutch company called intrax racing, what is known for good quality stuff for on the track.

Thing is tough, they dont have one for my car. So they are going to make a custom set once (for my car), and then it is avalible to order.

Reason why? Quality in own country. I need to drive an hour from here in case there is something wrong with it.

wow...they are customizing suspension for your FC...you should see if you can get some kind of sponsorship......being that you would essentially be the first to use their product on fc's right?
