OH SCCA AutoX F Prepared Project

So I've been trolling here for about the last 3 years whilst building my car, and since it's finally on the road I decided to post! I bought the car in summer of 2009 at which time I co-owned it with my friend Bob. We worked all winter (2009/2010) stripping the car down, doing bodywork, and preparing for paint. This spring, Bob decided to make his daily, '99 Audi A4 1.8T his dedicated racecar and picked up a new daily beater. Thus, the Rx7 is all mine now. This past winter (2010/2011) I took the engine out, inspected it, and replaced what was needed. Surprisingly, the seals are all in great shape, but carbon buildup was an issue. Seafoam brought the tired engine back to life. This season the car has done exactly what I wanted, proving itself reliably on the road. This winter, the car will go through some big changes to transform it into an autocross go-kart of sorts.

Done so far:
Engine refresh (seafoam soak)
Rebuilt nikki 4bbl Carb
OEM Water Pump
Mishimoto radiator
Electric 2 Stage Fan (out of an old Ford Taurus 3.8L)
Carter High Flow Fuel Pump (deadhead setup)
Holley Fuel Pressure Regulator w/ gauge (underhood)
Oil Metering Pump delete (running premix)
AC/air pump delete
Sunpro center console gauge cluster
Pushbutton Start Ignition
Relocated battery
16 gal JAZ fuel cell

Performance mods to come:
Sterling Nikki Carb
Racing Beat springs
Tokico HP Blue Struts
Energy Suspension bushings
Racing Beat Header/resonator
Custom welded SS 2.5" exhaust
Challenger Diamond Racing Wheels 15x8 Gloss black with red time attack ring
6 Point Cage
Manual steering rack upgrade

Day of purchase: Purchased from some emo dsm ricer in hamilton that didn't know what a carburetor was. Price: $500

Thanks! It's too bad I executed it poorly... Half of the car came out with major orange peel. But who cares! It's a race car in the making.

So lately I've been struggling with cold starts, and premix smoke at startup. Sometimes it fires right up, and sometimes it sounds like its firing on one rotor until it starts running smooth... For some background, I've done glazedham's carb strip and I'm running manual choke to the fast idle arm/choke linkage. No vacuum leaks, bowls look fine before starting, and it is indeed running on the idle circuit. I'm cornfused.
