It's the vac line for the brake booster. It's attached to the hose clamp at the end of the hard line and secured with a zip tie, it was the best thing I could think of doing.

While I do like the nose on the FB I'm kinda glad I have an SA.. it allows me to go to a rotary meet and still be a bit different than most :P

After all the driving I did today the clutch system isn't holding pressure if I keep the pedal depressed for more than a few seconds. If I just hit it once real quick it engages at the spot it always does.. but if I hold it down at the floor after a few seconds it starts to engage on it's own. After this happens I can pump the pedal and it builds pressure again but only if pressed for a few seconds at a time. I've looked over the whole system, the lines aren't cracked and the slave actually looks fine. When the slave went out on my Miata it made a big leaky mess.. so I'm assuming it's the master that's going bad? I was just about to buy a slave online but figured I'd go double check everything once more, just from the visual exterior inspection I don't see anything wrong so I'm thinking twice about needing a slave. I suppose I could just buy a new master and slave and more than likely fix everything... I was just hoping it was a $15 slave and not a $30 master.. or even worse $45 for both lol. Opinions?

well i have spent the last half hour catching up on yer thread, you have done an awesome job. uhh I spent 40ish on both the master and the slave at Advanced auto parts, they made my clutch respond much better. Is the brake fluid black? if so go ahead and swap out the cylinders.

Thanks for taking the time to look through the thread, I hope the pictures made it a bit less boring lol.

I did go ahead and order both and spent $41, just waiting for them to come in now. The fluid is black, but there aren't any leaks anywhere.. yet.. but I'm sure if I just let it go something would completely give out pretty soon.

Well I got it all done, only took about an hour. The master had been replaced before but not anytime recent seeing how rusty it was. The fluid was nasty black and full of dirt and rust. I know the master had been replaced before because someone was smart enough to use some bigger nuts slipped over the threads as a spacer to get the nuts off the firewall making them sooooooo much easier to get to. I made sure to flush out the line before bleeding new fluid through the slave, there was some nasty **** in there. Everything feels better now, I can keep the clutch depressed as long as needed and it will still hold pressure and disengage at the same spot each time.

Went for a little ride to make sure there were no issues:

What was up with the plumes of smoke on the dyno video...everything ok...too much premix? I love your car btw!

Thanks! I'm not sure about the smoke, I've actually been using a little less premix than suggested. I guess everything is okay with the motor, I haven't had any other problems with it. It's definitely oil and not coolant smoke though. It only does it when it engine brakes from high RPM.. along with a little smoke on start up after she sits for a few days but I assume that's just from the premix separating in the carb. The guy who ran my car on the dyno about freaked out when it smoked so much but I went ahead and let him do another run since the car had done that since I bought it. I'm not really sure what, if anything, I can do to fix this without a complete re-build.. the motor is 33+ years old after all.

One more pic since I washed her today:

usually...oil control rings would be suspect, but I am also new to premixing so I guess I will find out as I go.

I'm not too worried about it, I don't ever engine brake from that high RPM and I heard it wasn't such a good idea to engine brake a rotary at all anyways. It's a problem I wouldn't even have noticed had I never pushed it to the limits anyways lol.

After a LONG and frustrating process I am finally happy with the louvers, I won't go into detail unless someone is interested but here are some pictures:

If I don't get any replies here I'll post a new thread about it but I figured I'd give it a shot here first:

Just recently my radio started cutting out above 2k RPM under throttle only. It doesn't do it if I rev the motor in neutral or if I engine brake and it revs over 2k so I ruled out any vibration issues and figured it had something to do with the power wire coming straight off the battery and over the distributor wires. The problem went away for a bit, it's been very intermittent. Today on my way to work it started happening again so when I got home I wired the radio up correctly(it was just hard wired to the battery before). The ACC wire is spliced directly into the ACC power wire right off the ignition and the constant 12V power wire is wired up to a space in the cabin fuse box instead of directly to the battery and over distributor wires as before. The radio behaves as it should, going on and off with the key and everything but now the cutting out problem is worse. Sometimes it's even cutting out at just idle and at one point I had just my sub. Short of wiring in a whole different radio I'm completely stumped. Everything works fine when the motor isn't running and cuts out the higher RPM I turn under throttle only just as before. When it cuts out everything cuts out, every speaker and the sub.. everything.. so I doubt it's a speaker wire problem. I guess I could remove the remote wire to the amp and see if it happens with the amp off. I don't know what else to do.. any ideas? I really doubt it's the radio, it's a fairly new $500 radio with DVD touch screen and all those goodies and it (aside from this audio cut out problem) isn't showing any signs of having a problem. I just don't know what is happening under throttle that is causing this problem, absolutely nothing else in the car is having problems.

Second, does anyone know what front spoiler this is?
IIRC that was made by Kamei. Hard to find nowadays.

You're welcome!

Sorry I haven't checked this out on here before, I've just been lurking on the FS threads for quite a while. That will change soon, as you know...

Ha, thanks Chief.

I'll forgive you, it's pretty much the same as the thread on TMF but with more help and less retards lol. Those springs are still the best thing I've done to this car, it helps out the look and handling so much. I think it eased up my steering a tad as well.. if that's even possible?

Oh, and I've given up all hope of finding that front spoiler.. keep an eye out for me though

I'm always scrounging around looking for stuff, so if I see one you'll be the first. Hell it only took me 20-odd years to find my widebody so you have a little ways to go!

Ha, well I hope I'm not 46 by the time I finally find one.. not to mention the car would be over 53 years old by then lol. Thanks though!

Went for a little ride to get gas and dinner and tested out my new polarizing filter from polarprofilters.com on my way home. It's not overly dark but it definitely cuts down on the bright light washout and when facing away from the sun the sky and other colors look even better! I know it's not a huge difference when facing directly into the sun but for $10 it's great and will probably always keep it on. It should also really help out with glare out on the water or snow (lol) if I ever use it in those conditions.
