Thanks, and I'm not too sure.. I think I'm just going to put in a rebuilt motor at some point and work on keeping her looking nice and clean

I did a lot of searching lastnight and it seems that even if you get lowering springs they might not even make a difference or even raise your ride height.. I don't really want to spend money on springs just to cut them and the stock ones are already too soft and bouncy to cut. Probably just gonna leave them alone for now I guess.

I'm in the process of restoring and painting the Almex keyhole wheels.. if anyone cared :P

Oh, you wanted pics? lol here are some shitty cell phone ones for now..

I used a wire wheel brush with a drill to get the nice brushed metal look from the "polished" areas, taped them all off (OMG it took forever!) and then painted the "windows" gloss black with a nice coat of clear. The shitty tape I used left some residue so once everything is dry I will clean them up and see how they look on the car, so far I'm liking them!

So, I've had this thread moved to the 1st gen build threads section so I can update this thread as I mod and restore/fix up this car without just bumping up a welcome thread

I changed the oil, washed her and installed a new alt/wp belt since the old one broke on the way to work yesterday. Now who wants some recent pics?

What are your plans with the car?
-leave it
-restore it
-mod it

Well, since it's already been taken away from it's original state (a lot of the interior is custom/FB) I don't feel the need to put it back that way.. although I'm pretty sure Mark gave me the stock ignition and whatever else under the hood had been changed out for newer things. I will be getting a set of Eibach springs soon and am planning on swapping in a carbed 13b at some point. Some people have told me to stay 12a to stay "original" and I would but it just seems easier and better to go 13b. As far as the rest of the car is concerned it was already pretty well restored, there are some rust spots that need to be taken care of but I'm not even going to mess with that till it needs new paint... which might be a while considering the paint is less than 2 years old. My only problem with the car as it sits right now (aside from the soft and tall stock suspension) is the engine bay, I can't stand the mess! Everything will eventually get tucked once I'm ready to swap in a new motor. I'm currently debating removing the A/C system.. it hardly even works but then again this is Florida and it is my daily driver. Fall/winter down here can really make you wanna remove the A/C but it really seems like something I'd regret in a few months lol.

I would leave the A/C and try driving it through the summer without using it and see what you think. I removed the A/C on my last car (it worked great). After a few years I wished I hadn't.

First off, love the car. Second, PLEASE keep it original.
Here is a thread about that front lip you were questioning about
https://www.rx7club.com/1st-gen-general-discussion-207/what-1st-gen-air-dam-950021/

Yeah, I love the 78-80 Rx7's. My first Rx7 was my Dad's first Rx7.
My avatar is a picture of my car back in 1979 only a few weeks after he bought it.
Don't take it away from its original state too much if you do anything.
