FL My first rotary :)

Proud new owner of this 1979 Spark Yellow GS, I've heard that some of you (mostly the Orlando guys) already know of this car. Looking forward to becoming part of the RX-7 community, I've been around Mazda's for the past 10 years though so the only thing I'm new to is the rotary :P

Pics of the car:

My autocross ONLY Miata:

And the Protege (my DD) that I've recently put back to stock and am hoping to sell soon:

Sorry for all the pics, I tend to get carried away :P

It was only on CL for a few hours before it was all but mine, I bought it the next morning. It is nicer than it looked on CL and is as nice as it looks in my pics :P I love the wheels too.. but I'm going to "restore" them.

Beautiful SA! My first 7 was an '80 SA many moons ago. I'm hosting a meet in Jacksonville on July 9th--info is in the SE section. You should try to make it up. My buddy Wayne has a sweet SA too and he'll be there.

Congrats on the purchase! I spoke with Mark a few weeks earlier and he told me he was wanting to sell. I am glad he was able to sell quickly and glad you were able to get it! See you at the local gatherings.

Well I've put it back to stock... and it's an automatic lol. Thanks though, it was a great DD but I got tired of it after 9 years and after 2 weeks in the SA I'm never going back! :P

And since I like pics and don't think I posted them in this thread:

Thanks I need to get a pic of the dash w/o the mat but it's pretty damn clean.

It's not the original coat of paint but it is the original color. And don't wish you lived here, there are some nice parts but mostly its just flat and hot lol.

Makes me want to get my 79 Spark Yellow on the road.

I am glad Mark sold it. I bought some tires off him for our Lemons RX-7 before the new year when he first was putting it up for sale. Looked like a nice car.

Were those the really wide tires he was talking about? I saw some pics somewhere, they were pretty wide for the stock wheels lol. I'm glad he sold it too... and to me He hooked me up with a deal and I really appreciate it, I think he felt good knowing it would be in good hands. I wouldn't have sold it to a non-Mazda enthusiast either... and even if they were I wouldn't sell it to someone if they were gonna strip it down and race it. He actually ask me that exact question and I assured him I had a Miata for that

I do have 2 questions for the few ppl in this thread though...

First, is the air cleaner "box" different on the '79 because of the crap in the lid? I don't like the black and really want a stock blue one but don't know exactly what to look for.

Second, does anyone know what front spoiler this is?
