I am not a

Carb guy, so here is my problem,
1984 rx7 12A 5 speed GSL is the car
12A is in good running condition... welll trying to get there so here is what I have done so far
Rats nest is gone, cruise control gone emission stuff fell off.
OK I got rid of the nikki and intake setup and removed all of the exhaust. Right now she has a RB (Racing Beat) intake, Holley (unknown CFM was told 650 by the guy I bought it off also stated it was a racing beat one as well but no oil controll lines mods were done to this carb so I think it is a dime store holley carb) a pace setter header as well.

Now the good is a couple taps from the go pedal and she fires right up, (nikki had a **** load of issues). I am running the stock pump (I know I know I need something with some other blah blah blah) But I figure with a new pump I should be able to tune the carb and get it streetable. so how in the ******* love of mose's old *** boat do I get my idle from 4000 to o lets say a lot less? I searched and finding out how to tune a carb is a little much for me I don't want to make it worse. Also how the hell can I find the CFM on the carb????

Mose's old *** boat?!

Have you checked for a vacume leak?

What size jets are in the Holly? I've heard good luck with the blue metering rods and .77 jets on a 12A.

If the Edlebrock is a cheap clone of a Holly then there are two screws on the driver's side of the carb. They are your idle speed oriface control screws (I don't know the technical name, but that sounds cool)

Turn those in with the throttle closed up untill the car wants to shut off... Then back them out half a turn and you'll be golden.

None present, Only 2 lines, one for the brake booster, the other for the dizzy. Intake is torqued but I can check that tomorrow. As for jets that is also unknown. I asked the guy I bought it off and it "was" set upto run on a 12a (stock port) with no mods. So either 1 of 2 things happened:
1. He is a dumbass and talks a good game.
2. I messed something up without touching it.
Also the idle were reset per holley setup. Tightened snuggly, and backed off 1.5 turns both of them. I did not see any other ones either.

Have you checked the ignition timming? Although, 4k is pretty high, but it is possible I guess...

I think you're hella rich. PO dude probably took the Holly off of a small block and it's jetted for the small block still.

Timing was never touched, It would goto 3000 with the old nikki (once it start then come down to 800rpms). So I am lost at this point, and I have to agree maybe the carb was pulled from another car.
