Why Did The GRINCH Steal Christmas?... To Fund This Build....
Hey guys been looking around for a while on here gathering information and what not about the rx7 and ideas for this build. This is my first rx7/rotary and turbo build so any info would be awesome! I ended up trading my built k24 crx that used for auto cross and hpd days but have always had a thing for the fd. So I found a fd that the guy claimed to be legit and did compression test. Well end up being a bunch of bs so back to square one. Fast forward and I just dropped my 13b off to Elliot and we set a plan of attack for the rebuild and goals of this build. I also put down for one of his twin scroll manifolds and got the adaptronic ecu and bunch of other goods. Lets get on to some pictures.

[/URL] Plan to move the intercooler over to the right enough to get an intake fitted for the turbo
Aem coils with sakebomb wires and bracket(going direct fire now)
Got this far and a buddy came by to look at the car and said he though was bad so we ended up doing a comp test and found it to have to bad apex seals
taken apart to see the damage
bad seals
new ecu setup which seems to be lightyears better the the fc I had
So right now I'm just waiting on Elliot to build the motor and manifold and figure out my fuel pump setup. got a new rywire harness, id1000,2000 with full function rails. any ideas or what to or not to do is great. thanks for checking it out and cant wait to get it completed

well got some stuff for my fuel setup in the mail today. Now time to get to work on the tank and finishing striping the bay to get resprayed since previous owner did a horrible job on it.
I'm most likely going to run a pressure sensor to each pump and run to the ecu so it will be able to tell if one pump is bad and save the motor.

is that a Rywire harness? those are definitely the way to go if you're doing some sort of plug-n-play and dont want to make your own harness.
check with elliot on the wastegate vband flanges on his manifolds. i have the same manifold and the same wastegates as you and both of my wastegate flanges on the manifold didn't seal up to the tial wastegates. elliot says it's because he usually uses turbosmart vband flanges and they aren't exactly the same as the tial ones. he's sending me a new manifold because of this.
for 500whp i would run a -8 line for the fuel feed, then split it up in the bay to both rails. i dont think a single -6 can handle that much e85.
and yet another adaptronic. jeez. where is all the Haltech love?
anyway, it looks like you're doing things right. looking forward to updates.

also, what turbo is that? i'm running a 6262 .84 ournal bearing and it was perfect for HPDE at Road Atlanta. very responsive and helping me keep up with 911s on the track
made 320whp at 11psi and very responsive.

FWIW, i have the oil-only 6262 and i've had no problems with its "health." i spent several hours on the dyno, i DD the car right now, and i did six 20 minute sessions at Road Atlanta getting up to about 145mph in 5th gear. no smoke, nothing weird from the turbo. granted, this was mostly done at 9-10psi, but i don't foresee any problems running higher boost. just make sure you have a non-kinked -8 (or -10) oil drain for it. the journal bearings don't use a restrictor and need a nice big oil drain. i am running a -8 drain.
i think these are great turbos for the money.
if you do want to spend the extra $$$ on a nice garrett unit though, i happen to have a GTX35R 1.06 T4 for sale (i actually did the garrett core exchange through elliot, so it's a brand new CHRA).

Well finally got the trans and diff out. Trying to decide if should drop the cash this winter and do full cage and some other stuff. Dose any one know we're I can get a carbon unroof delete? Also is there a way to get bearings in the control arms instead of poly bushings.

I know a member on here made his own sunroof delete and I think he sold the mold. Someone else made a cap that covered almost the entire roof but I can't find info on either of them now.
