little update:

34row oil coolers installed. Ended up fabing some custom brakets because they sit too low for my taste.

They are know 12cm above the ground (car currently hast 7cm clearance on the front subfrage) -> car will be upped by ~3cm because of the current position of the front lower A-arms.

And YES, the pop-ups will **** without inteference to the fittings I can also drive a stock crash-bar

I'm currently reconsidering my turbo setup.
I've a possible buyer for the bnr stage 3 setup, so maybe I will go gtx3572r let's see what time brings...

just ordered a 2way carbonetics diff from THMotorsports for an unbeatable price!

Get them while they're hot!

another reason for the huge delays I've forgot to mention... A buddy of mine and me bought a mill and turning machine

First usage of the mill for my fd3s buildup -> dual egt's installed

Car looks great! However your rear tires are on backwards.

Why don't you register the car somewhere else? $30k+ for an FD is insane.

Are those your E28s in the background?

Thanks for the hint regarding the wheels the car is standing around since a long time and will stand around longer before it's finish. I just randomly smash the wheels on the car when i get it off the lift

It would be possible to register the car in germany, because it has germany paperwork and was registered there a few years ago.
That was the plan, its totally possible, BUT, you have to register the car in the country you live! Thats the law over here, but nobody really punished you for this years ago.
BUT, this year the goverment decided to found a task force with members of the police and the tax authority!
This guys are hunting down people with foreign license plates who register their cars outside the country!
If you get caught, you have to pay all the taxes and a really really really high fine.

The elemts of offence are: tax evasion and insurance fraud

Those E28's are cars of friends. The left one is a standard 525i and the right one has a e23 745i 3.5l turbo engine in it
I have owned several E30's and E36's with m50 swaps, 2.8l strokers, M3 drivetrains and so on. They are the cheapest cars over here in mid-Europe with rear wheel drive and LSD to have fun with because of that, nearly everyone of my friends over here owns an old BMW...
currently I have a m50 swapped e30 touring and a e36 325i with shorter diff and tranny as a winter beater/drift biatch

Looking good

More pics of the mill! Also what is the name of the ceramic coat you used? I like it, it looks almost like the bare aluminum does.

Unfortunately I can't afford the taxes! But that's no problem, the car would NEVER be road legal over here.
We have crazy rules on modifing car's...
Therefore the car will be trailered to the tracks and will see the streets sometimes with blue license plates. (Those plates are for car dealers for test drivers )

Here they are.
The machines are nothing really special, they are new and chinese stuff with a relativly good reputation, Of course, you can't compare them to an EMCO or VOEST machine... But it does the job really good for the hobby-user The machines + tools set us back about 10kUSD *doh*

mill:

lathe:

last "little" tool i bought for the mill

One of the multiple reasons I don't get much done on the FD... making my E36 325i beater ready for the winter... today: rust issues!

Not really something many people want to share, but... **** it my first (and hopefully last) fail during welding cars myself for the last 10 years...
I've managed to set this piece of **** on fire...

the fire killed:

carpet
passenger seat
passenger door panel
passenger sun visor
roof liner
a-pillar cover
instrument panel
and the windshield cracked

but no problem, a good friend hooked me up with a complete e36 interieur for 100bucks thanks to alex

Do you know what the name of the ceramic coating you used is? Or what the color is called?

Also awesome machines, I wish I had the space for a real setup.

Holy **** that fire got out of hand quick!

I've bought the manifolds from GodfellaFD3S
Here is the for sale thread for further infos: https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati...tanium-980441/
If you have specific questions, it would be the best to bother godfella

I know what you mean, a man can't have too much space for his toys

yes, it's crazy how fast a fire can damage a car

*updates**updates**updates*

Plans changed massivly...

Twinturbo setup is sold

bank account is at at an all-time low

what's comming:

CJ-motorsports FPD fuel rail kit + 2xID725 + 2xID2000
Turblown engineering turbo kit (more infos on the specs later)
wannaspeed mechanical preturbo water/meth injection
OS giken twinplate clutch
racepak smartwire unit

car will now be fully rewired 0.o
I hate it when it starts with "let's make it driveable and reliable" and ends with "**** it, go full in"

- back from the dead-

wanted to give a short update.

I was working in China for the last two months, so that's the reason for the silence.
Before going abroad, I was working on the ducting / undertray... Done some templates out of wood for the final design...
made my own brackets for the oil coolers to get closer to the mazdaspeed gtc openings. fits quite good!
also decided to give the bay a good cleanup and a rattle can flat black finish instead of a pro-paintjob, as I want to add a weld in cage next winter
here you go to get an idea:

pic with one of our dogs

I'm currently waiting for Elliot@Turblown to finish my turbo kit and start some engine work.
Decided to go full in, remove all the stock wiring and buy a racepak smartwire
