No updates, Considering reasonable offers. It's for sale if anyone is interested.

Snook 07-20-15 02:45 PM

Did you buy that 95 with 20k original miles?

Mdessouki 07-20-15 07:54 PM

you might get the most cash by offering it as a roller to the LSX crowd/ parting the rest...

jacobcartmill 07-21-15 03:57 PM

gordon, i cant speak for dave, but i'm currently accepting monetary donations in order to keep mine :)

MOBSTER 07-21-15 10:25 PM

Hate that your selling.... But I understand that life happens. One of my favorite builds, would love to see it finished.

mazdaFD 07-22-15 09:11 AM

Didn't really think you would go through with putting it up... I still say finish it.

But if it does come down to parting it at some point let me know...

Fd3BOOST 07-22-15 02:09 PM

Gordon,
No major reason to sell other than I just can't seem to find the interest , motivation or time to get the car done. It's 90% there but with the recent news of Ray Wilson closing shop, I've lost my tuner. So even if I did get it done id have to haul it up to Jersey to get it tuned. Not a pleasant thought.

I'm not actively pursuing a sale. I have no financial need to sell it. It cost me nothing as is. I like the idea of having this car on the road to roll around in but what once seemed like a fun project has turned into an annoying eye sore that just sits in the garage taking up space.

Things can always change maybe I'll get the bug to wrap it up. Either way it's just pretty low on my priority totem pole.

Hello, Fd3BOOST

Congratulations for making these restoration is impressive work that takes , I just saw every subject , I remember a few years ago I saw him start , but you've come a long way .

If it's any help or cheer , I have a rx7 about 4 years old and has two and a half years standing , unarmed in the garage , waiting to see if it improves the economy to restore and although time passes still with the same desire to bring out the project , they are spurts but in the end we are sickened by this car lol .
By this I mean that you have very little to finish with one more push you 're ready , I think it's worth .

Greetings and let it rip

Snook 07-23-15 03:52 PM

Dave,

I have a good idea. Buy the next car you really want and put yourself in financial strain to get it. That will force you to finish this FD and sell it quickly. That's what I've done, needing money is a pretty good motivator. I've sold 3 cars and my trailor this month in preparation of an out of state move.

I get what you're saying, but couldn't help to laugh when you prefaced putting yourself in finical strain with a "a good idea".

Dave- I thought Ray was going to open back up in a new spot. Is that no longer happening?

Snook 07-24-15 07:15 AM

Some sarcasm in my reply

After hearing the rumors of what was happening out there, one would be crazy to trust that shop to drop their car for an oil change lol.

Hoping u get the motivation to finish this Dave. Seeing it completed would be very rewarding.

Austin

I honestly have no idea what Ray is doing with his business. I did exchange a few texts with him about a week ago. Honestly was more of a friend checking on a friend kind of thing though and didn't really talk about any cars or business. I am sure that at some point he will continue on with PFS.

My girlfriend's brother also has a speed shop in York Pa. CBRD Speedfactory, but he doesn't do rotary, I already asked.

How's business going for you Austin?

Fd3BOOST 07-26-15 11:39 AM

Does this mean we will be seeing another fd being gutted and parted out? :(

It's called recycling my man! Lol
If I had to guess, assuming do coarse Fritz does buy it. He'll snag all the sweet interior parts for his own ride and then part out the rest. Lots of amazing parts on this car, almost makes me rub my head to wonder how I managed to assemble such nice stuff but it will be cycled back to the community for all to enjoy.

Maybe some day I'll be back with another FD. I didn't plan on buying this one so who knows. Either way whomever takes it off my hands will be a happy camper.

Andre The Giant 07-29-15 10:37 PM

Noooooooo. Cannot accept this

RapidCancel 07-30-15 10:24 AM

silver_7 08-01-15 09:25 PM

One of my favorite cars. So close to having it finished. Sad to see it go.

Fd3BOOST 08-05-15 05:38 PM

The car is sold,
Going to a buyer in Florida.

It's been real fun guys, I hope to see you all around again someday.

Jose A. 08-05-15 06:31 PM

Damn... Sad to read that it got sold, you were restoring it so nicely , but we arent in your shoes.
Hope new buyer finishes it , but if its going to fritz then im sure a lot of people will go after all the nice parts in it.

Fd3BOOST 08-20-15 05:00 PM

It's officially gone. The car was picked up today to be shipped down to Florida. The new owner Zak seems to be more of a lurker on the forum as doesn't post much but I invite you Zak to post here when you get the car on the road or just to generally bitch about anything I did that has you pulling your hair out.:)

Thanks again to everyone who participated on this thread. I was really enjoying it for the first few months and I am slightly sad that I did not complete the project but life moves on.

Happy rotoring fellas.
