the clutch makes alot of chattering. at first i was all scared and everyone was like, "that does not sound good". now that i know it is normal, i am good to go
thank you! now it is time to get a front bumper and some headlight covers. maybe also get the paint fixed a little. new tires are needed as well. gah, there is always something that needs to be done with these cars...

Yeah, things never seem to be complete do they? I need to replace the carpet and mats, some of the interior & exterior trim pieces, seat brackets, wheels & tires, all of which cost money I don't have right now combined with impatience. Sucks.

so i got my first parking ticket today for no reason on base today. it honestly does not mean anything; except for if you somehow accumulate 12 of them, then you get kicked off base. it was pretty funny, as soon as i made everyone lose thier hearing as i pulled in to show my military ID and pulled out, i saw one of the MP's radio in to someone. after i parked, an hour later i had 3 base police cars around it thinking of what to do. they gave me an illegal parking ticket because i was not pulled in all the way. i find it pretty funny because there are no lines or anything designating on where to park, you just kinda have to make your own parking space lol

i actually fixed it a little while ago. i just had to adjust the idle bleed valve from under the throttle body elbow.
here is a video of it idling smoothly, just dont make fun of my ridiculously long nose ok?

And having to open up the garage door to let the fumes out is another sure fire way to tell you own an FD

That's actually pretty funny. Like most of us FD owners, you seem to be pleasantly shocked the car would run normally. It's kind of like a big birthday gift isn't it? We expect the worst but hope for the best.

gah, now i have to figure why this is doing this. time for the TPS and ISC check if the idle bleed valve wax screw plunger thingy is not doing the trick

Davin, you had deleted the ISC so we adjusted your idle manually. Now that you reinstalled it, you'll definitely have to spend some time getting it dialed in.

So i removed the oil pan over the weekend so it can be exchanged. this is the Xcessive Manufacturing oil pan that had a defect in it. it was leaking oil and here are some pictures. furthermore, the oil sitting in this does not look too good. i am not sure what to think of this. regardless, as per their warranty, i will be getting a better on soon.

Was that your first oil change since we built the motor? It is pretty common for the oil in these cars to become dirty looking very quickly. Mostly to blame is the fact that a good quart (or more in r1 cars) doesn't drain when you change the oil because it doesn't drain out of the oil cooler/s. This is why we recommend changing the oil at 1500-2000 miles for performance applications.

Great news Davin
If you're ever back in the area, bring the car back and we can work on the idle issue (free of course)......it didn't exhibit the problem when we had the car, but it started to act up on our banzai run over to Lodi.
Remember to take it easy on that new carbon twin disc clutch

behold, here is the polished strut bar i won at the Chris Carlisi Memorial Meet the other day. i also did my own modified industrial tape intercooler ducting lol. take a gander at the picture
i also figured out why my idle was so lumpy. turns out my TPS has a crack in it. just ordered one from Mazdatrix
hopefully she will be running soon after i drop in my 500R-SP and v-mount

ANYWAYS!
here is an update to the car so far. i ordered a JDM UIM and non-cruise controlled throttle body from Japan2LA with an excessive manufacturing LIM to be cerama-chromed by rich at IRP. also the 500R-SP with a substrate cat mid pipe is being fabbed as we speak. next is the aeromotive/kg parts fuel system. here is the progress

Congrats on the build.
You have a rather large garage....
Those are the sexiest fuel rails i've seen.... wow!
Good job on you Batmobile and cant wait to see the 500R sitting pretty in there.
BTW, kinda ironic how my friend used to have a blue 350z and named it the batmobile

Davin, the car is coming along great bud. As always, if you need anything at all get in touch
P.S. You may want to take advantage of the ceramic coating GB that IRP is running right now
