My RX7/Rotary projects... formerly My Blk base build up..

I know you could own any car you want; like several of us old timers you have a passion for these cars and they continue to be your Muse.
One of these days I will try to get down to DGRR. If not with my RX-7 maybe show up just to cover the event and do a shoot with your car. You are always welcome to bring a car up to me and I would be happy to shoot it for you. It's not like you don't have that covered down there though. Lots of nice shots of your cars have been done over the years. Rich and I are going to attempt a night shoot this evening with his black car. Let's hope it turns out as well as we anticipate.
Keep up the good work on the cars, we are all watching and following along.

Hi There,
I have just finished reading one of your threads with your 20B on mazdas247 and most of this thread too.. Hat off to you.. You have done some awesome work and attention to detail is insane. I also cannot believe some the rare and unique parts you manage to come by. You clearly have some very good contacts in the business!?
I sent a message via e-mail to you the other day. Not sure if you picked it up or it went to an out of date e-mail. Your pm inbox is full! I had a couple of questions about some parts on your 20B to try and source same or similar for my own build. One things as the head lights? What are they?
I also was kean to get a bit of info on your radiator and cooling set-up used on your 20B to find out how well it worked and what you did in the way of a cooling fan in the end. I could not find this over on the other build.
Hope you can get a chance to send over a reply some time.
look forward to your updates.
Cheers
Lee

Yes, family first. It's set me back on my car pursuits also. I've been good. Car isn't running but that's just a matter of time. I let my small project on the fuel system turn into several other small projects. The weather is nice now so I need to just stop screwing around and put it together. Glad to see you are still putting all this effort into this platform Phil.

Headlights are R magic HID. But if you are looking for an alternative, Evo-R sells replicas.
I'm planning to update things more but time is my enemy.. I have a new set up planned for the 3 rotor next year. I'll do my best to post here.

It's been awhile since I last updated this thread..
Well, several things have happened since..
Once the car was done, I took it to Import Alliance ATL, under Exedy Clutch booth.
Made it on to their event video. Thank you IA!!

Thanks for getting back to me.. I would love some feedback on your radiator setup on the 20B if you have time to check my mail.. I know what you mean.. I struggle to fit everything in myself!
I stumbled across the Evo-R parts. might look at custom making something in due course now.
Look forward to seeing future updates.

Picked up a set of these Rotary13B1.com: Your Online Source for Rotary Engine Parts & Accessories! inside door handle cups made out of aluminum.
Quality on these are awesome!! I've had couple of these cups break by where screws in and I don't think that will happen again.
Great product!!

Few more updates..
Earlier this year, my latest build was featured and made cover of PasMag magazine.
I ended up doing the photos and was honored that they pick my photo for the cover.
Here are few photos from the feature.
Front bumper Knightsport Type 7
Turbo - Borg Warner 8374 EFR with Turbosmart wastegate actuator and BOV.
Lights R Magic HID lights with Custom Carbon Fiber buckets by my friends at EVOR
Hood - Not really sure who made it in Japan. Its very similar to Mazdaspeed hood. Grills were custom cut and made by my friend Micheal Osburn.
Wheels - Rays Engineering Gram Lights FXX
Tail Lights are by EVO-R
This photo was picked for Toyo Tires Shutter Space event in California. I was one of 15 photos picked.
You can barely see my photo in the background
If you fancy a read... Here is the link to the PasMag feature: PASMAG | PERFORMANCE AUTO AND SOUND - Rotary Frankenstein: Phil Sohn's 1993 Mazda RX-7 FD3S

Some 3 Rotor update.
Had the new manifold made by Addicted Performance Unlimited using 321 Stainless. Addicted Performance was recently featured by TV show Gas Monkey and does amazing job! They also sponsor my rotary event called, 'Deals Gap Rotary Rally'.
Check out their site: Home - addictedperformanceunlimited.com
Custom 3 Rotor Flange.
Couple of runners done.
Finished manifold!
Mock up on to Addicted Performance Shop 3 rotor
I'll be using Borg Warner EFR 9180 with external wastegate (Turbosmart)
I'm trying to build 2 x FD's this coming year. Hope to build and have fun with these.

Thanks Simon!! Addicted Performance did an amazing job!! Can't be happier and can't wait to get this thing running. But your REPU is my favorite rotary build. Can't wait to see that thing in person.
Going with Borg Warner EFR 9180 vs. Turbonetic.
