My 94 Mazda rx7 Fd

Its been a long time coming, but I finally did it. From sitting in the mountains to coming back to life. This opportunity comes only once in a life time.

This is my $500 94 Mazda Rx7 FD

Mini backstory: The previous owner parked it and didnt drive it after. It sat for maybe 8-10 years outside. He was going to donate it. I told him that Id buy it for the amount the donation was going to be. He said $500. I was in shock, and you bet i went to get that money asap. I had to get it off a steep mountain with a winch and only a slightly working handbrake. After overshooting the tow dolly and the straps coming loose multiple times along the way, I brought it home.

This is how i got my 94 Mazda RX7. Its been my project ever since.

Has rats nest and lertally had an actual rats nest.

This was after 8-10 years of sitting. Running driving smogged and registered Of course it had its issues

Parts started arriving

Best wing for the car imo

I chose to go with the plateless first

I like to give things a try despite the obvious outcome

At this point I stopped and decided to let the profesionals take over

This is as clean as it gets at the moment.

For the most part the interior is finished. Just need to get the seats upholstered

Down to bare metal

Lookin so good!

Bought these long ago and finally it was time. (I still dont know if these are the style I want for the car so I just got these avid 1 after seeing some work emotion cr)

After 3 years of saving and working on other issues that came up, its finally painted

Getting this finally painted has been the biggest hurdle. The car is not in perfect condition and every issue I fix two more come up.

As far as future plans go its fixing and replacing parts here and there. The next big moment is when this engine goes. I love the twins, but also really like the simplicity that a single brings.

I love this car, headaches and all, even if it sits more than Id like, but I will continue to try to keep it going.

BlueTII - i honstly think it woulda been crushed if "donated"

RE - I had to do a retake but glad your title clarifies it.
it really is a different car

Silver- Im gonna be going around all 4 corners and cleaning up the suspension. I do plan to replace with new parts but I think these are still good so Im just gonna see how well i can make them look since they will be replaced in the future. Plus I think itll be a nice project and way easier than paimting a car. HA!
so ill probably post some before and afters on that.
A sculpture doesnt move but it still amazing to look at

Totally bitchin. 500 bucks that’s like a dream come true. Looks awesome. There’s always one more thing to fix.
Congratulations on an epic find.

Cant find side mirror glass at dealer so i went with alternative ones. They fit really well. Found them on ebay.
