My 93 Rx7 Build
Hey guys. I'm still fairly new to this forum but just wanted to post my build thread here.
I've always been a pretty big fan of the rx7... Just never had the time or money to own or modify one. Obviously that's changed, so here we go.
I ended buying a Rx7 from Ohio, which arrived on 4/28.
Here's a picture of her the day she arrived.
Car came with the following mods:
-Sumped gas tank
-weldon 1000hp pump -10 feed lines
-Siemens deka #80's
-Aeromotive fuel rails and press reg
-Alcon baer type b calipers on 13 inch rotors
-T56 with McLeod twin disc
-15k mile 2004 ls6 with arp rod bolts
-Polluter cam
-Crane heavy duty push rods and double valve springs
-8 point chomemoly cage
-Al power steering pump pulley
-Sparco pro 2000 seats
-Momo steering wheel
-Eclipse Satellite touch screen Navigation
-Boost, fuel press, and oil press gauges
-Turbo kit includes BW s475 turbo, neo gen 1k hp wastegate, tubular mani's -stainless out a 4 inch turbo back exhaust
-Greddy coilovers
-Suspension bushings replaced all around
-31 spline cobra rear end on custom chromoly subframe dss axles
-Oil cooler, powersteering cooler
-All working factory gauges, hp tuners pro setup with all old tunes burned on discs
-Fno1-c wheels 9 inch wide fronts, 10 inch wide rears
-FMIC 4 inch thick, 3 inch charge pipe tial bov
-8 breather system
-relocated coil packs with heat wrapped harnesses
-Howe 3 inch hi flow radiator runs in 100 degree weather at 170-180 coolant temps
-Tauraus fan setup on dual stage volvo relay hi low
-Greddy turbo timer
-MSD 2 step programable!
At it's current stage, the car has a whole hoist of problems.
- Radiator leak
- Exhaust leak
- Old / Rusty bushings all around
- Interior is crap
- I think the Car is literally missing 80% of the bolts
- Running extremely hot
- Combination switch is broken
- SUPER LOUD weird clunking sound upon deceleration
- Running like crap due to the previous owner's tune
More pictures of the shabby interior:
My goal with the build is to have a car that's appealing and fast to drive on the street. I'm not really a big track guy, so I've prioritized comfort and "curb appeal".
Going to do the car in pretty much 3 phases over the course of about 6 months. (I don't want this project to be taking 2-3 years like the other ones I've seen on here, no offense).
Phase 1 - Interior
- Cage removal
- Center Console
- Dash
- Rear Panels
- Bins
- New A pillars
- New console / Trans Cover
- New passenger and driver window motors
- New combination switch
- Tillet B1 Seats
- MOMO seat brackets with sliders
- Seibon CF Door panels
- CF Interior door lock covers
- CF passenger and driver side door panels
- NRG Quick Release Hub
- NRG SRK - 250 BK - quick release gen 2.5
- Momo Nero Shifter ****
- MOMO Jet Steering wheel - 320 mm
- Rx7 store - Column Pod
- NRG Carbon Fiber Hand Brake
- AEM wideband sensor
- EVO electrical boost gauge
- EVO electrical oil temperature gauge
- EVO electrical fuel pressure gauge
- Triple Gauge pod - 52 mm - Center Mount
- Dynamat
Phase 2 - Engine, Drivetrain, Suspension
- Turboboost e-boost controller
- RETUNE
- Stoptech Big brake kit
- Volk GR G2's 20" - Formula Silver (might change these to a more deep dish style rim)
- Autoexe Rear brace
- Custom subframe connectors
- New bushings all around because the car is making this weird clunking sound
- Ceramic Coat manifolds and downpipe
- Exhaust Wrap
Phase 3 - Exterior
- Veilside Fortune Kit
- DDM HID's
There will probably be more as I enter the 2nd and 3rd phases as these are just the list of parts I have in already.
