I wanted to share the quick story and pictures of my 93 R1 and my adventure turning the car into exactly what I needed.
The car started life as a 1993 R1. I bought it from the previous owner completely stock, re sprayed the original velocity red (good quality, was suffering from "pinking") with a rebuilt to stock spec engine at 5k miles. The car also had a host of reliability mods (radiator, ast, cheap mans intake, fan override, redone vacuum lines heavy gauge, etc..) I drove the car stock for nearly 6 years and enjoyed every second of it. Never acted up, always pampered.
More recently I got involved in Autocross with some colleagues and drove the car stock a few times. It was wonderful, to say the least. About two whole years and a month ago I decided it was time to start with some modifications, nothing crazy just clearing up the intake tract (or so I thought at the time). Two years later I'm a good bit more than 20k into parts/ some labor but I have realized my dream of a clean, modified FD with enough power to keep it interesting on the street, a suspension setup deserving of the track, and enough reliability mods / common sense to keep it running smooth and cool for a long time. I won't banter much more. Pictures from stock and after attached along with a list of the notable modifications.
Quick shoutout to Speed1 for turning 75% of the wrenches and doing the tuning, the vendors on the forum and affiliated with the forum, and the members of the forum; whom I bought a good deal of parts from. Cheers
