Mannykillers/ AAPARKAH Street/time Attack/Drift Build (heavy Pics) #Thisisthewolf

just regular 93 octane gasoline @ 12psi.
are you on e85? if so you'll make about 20whp more i would bet (all else equal)
and fwiw mine was 338whp @ 12 psi on a dyno dynamics, which is supposedly ~380whp Dynojet.
i also have a medium size streetport, so our setups some make similar power (minus the e85 factor)

I'll be heading to the dyno once everything on the street looks good =-)

^ thanks guys!!!!
Did some street tuning on the car yesterday and .....all I can say is that this thing is an absolute monster. We stopped and decided to change the wastegate springs down from 14.5 ...to 7lb springs because we were hitting 15 lbs of boost @ 3800 RPM with only partial throttle!!!! So we called it for the day till I pull the springs out.... This new Borg Warner EFR seriously whips online like nothing I've ever felt before!! I'll be making some small changes and making sure all my Ethanol gear is working then hitting the dyno hopefully as soon as possible. I need a nice dyno

the EFR turbo's are awesome. Make sure to go slow and tune line by line as you go up the load cells. Be careful and stay rich on those first passes....watch the knock.
Why did you blow the first motor?

Yes.. ^This guy here is kinda right.
So, If you guys can remember back when I shorted out an ignition coil while installing my brake booster. I accidently pinched a wire going to my ignition coil between the firewall and the brake booster.. I couldnt see it and tightened down the booster not knowing there was a wire in the way. I started the car and it started just fine....but then I saw smoke coming form the engine bay. The car was on for roughly 20 seconds running. opened the hood and knew I messed something up. Wasn't getting spark from the coil so I simply replaced the coil hit the dyno. WELLLLL Long story short.... I replaced the coil and started thecar up and it ran just fine. But I didn't check the timing because nothing had changed. Well we get to the dyno and one coil isn't firing. If I would have checked the timing with a light beforehand I would've never gone to the dyno. Because I would've seen no light. And I would've hit up Andy from adaptronic to help me find the problem. He would've had me do a few different tests as he did this time and we would've found out that I was only getting 12V to one ignition coil AFTER i fried my ignition outputs for roughly 20 seconds when I pinched that wire. The other output signals were as follows 5.6v, 1.3V, 3.4V and Intermittent!! At idle I would get light with the timing light..and other instances it would dissappear all together. This was the problem. Yes we should't have continued on the dyno and I payed for that grave mistake. But there it is. SO now that timing is perfect....and all ignition is firing at 12V and the car's street tune is the smoothest ...nicest powerband I've ever felt in any fd... The car is now in fact ready for the dyno. Saving up some funds for a few hours and looking for a nice facility to put some E85 in her and let the Wolf out!!! Updates soon guys! thanks much!

yes, I took the car up to 140mph (4th gear pulls), and I used the turbo to get up high and back off for the lower cells.
Using a dyno could make tuning safer, easier, and quicker.

Update:
Well I got sick and tired of waiting for people to make time to finish the work I paid them for. So a couple friends helped me weld out the dash bar. FINALLY I was able to mount my dash and route wiring.
Melting paint off for surface prep

Also got sick of feeling paranoid and the last couple threads of the top most bolt from my excessive LIM stripped out. So pulled it off and went and purchased a helicoil kit. Taped of the ports to be safe. The job was damn easy.. Just make sure you clean thread it in straight. Everything after that is cheese easy.

I also got an IRP 140 AMP alternator. This really is a good mod for any fd IMO. can't beat 14.1 V at idle.... Dual Bosch 044's 2x 10" oil cooler fans... and HID's drawing all sorts of power. This thing keeps me charged!! Next to the oem unit.

ANd finally...I was really not so comfortable with the heat coming from the turbo/downpipe area and my electrical running right over the top of it. After a bit of a cruise it was very hot...so I got some giant velcro DEI heat sleeving and made it work. This should do the trick...this stuff isn't cheap by any means... $$$

I'm in need of a turbo exhaust heat shield. As soon as I can get signal from my FLEX fuel sensor the car is ready for the dyno. Been in the process of moving along with work and getting this thing ready for heavy pulls....so we'll see when I can get a shield and head down for some dyno numbers. Stay tuned. Keep an eye on your rubber WG lines. I ran high temp rubber lines initially on mine near my exhaust manifold and they were cracked and hard within a month. Your heat shielding should help tremendously, but again, check them periodically. Would hate to see you lose a WG line and have an unfortunate overboost incident. I converted to hardlines to eliminate that possibility!
