teflon should only be used to seal NPT connections... but you should try and avoid NPT stuff anyway because its sort of ghetto. NPT threads are the tapered ones that get tight by getting larger diameter the further in you thread.

AN connections seal on the flare. And they have to seal on the flare. If the flare isnt sealing and you use teflon on the threads, you still will not get a real seal because that isnt sealing where the lockwire holds the nut to the end of the flare/barb. And those are not the right type of threads/seats to be sealing anyway.

Using teflon to seal a leaking AN fitting is like fixing an exhaust leak with duct tape... its not a real solution and not professional at all... you need to figure out why its leaking and fix it at the source.

alrighty, so i've been on a slight hiatus as of late, but i've set a new deadline. I want to have the car running by June 1'st. There's a local drift event they do every year that I would love to be able to drive in...so with that said i've ordered a few things and am working towards that goal.

progress:

Rywire mil-spec harness is on the way. Thanks again Ryan!
Two Bosch 044 fuel pumps/pick-up/filters fittings are on the way as well.
Injecter Diffusers, Shifter rebuild kit, Rear Tranny Seal all on the way

What I need:

- Wheels
- Exhaust Manifold
- Exhaust fab
- V-mount IC core already have but I need a Radiator
- Front fenders
- Seats
- HKS twin power
If I can get this stuff.. I can drive...but I still need my rear wheel wells cut and welded and body work done on my fenders...paint can waite..but i've never been one to have a rusty pile of GODDAMMMNUGLY out and about..so i'll think of something.

Since you are using EV-14 Bosch injectors why not just remove the diffusers?

Hey John!

I'm actually running I.D. 850 Prim and I.D. 2000 Secondaries. I'm only using the diffusors for sealing purposes. I'll be shaving down the actual duffuser part so I don't suck one down....down the line.

ALrighty, so i've been pretty busy working and working..and working but I've managed to get a little bit of work done on my sweet piece of automotive A**

Drained the Gas.....which i've been meaning to do for a LOOOOONG time now. A little too simple if you ask me. haha

Installed my Oil Filter Pedestol. Much easier to do when the motor is out of the car.....for those of you who've done it.. you know exactly what i'm talking about.

Super COpper for the win!!

Some goodies came in from Full Function Engineering!!!

put in place Cj-motorsports dual pump hanger. Bosch 044's Pick-up socks, fittings etc =-)

also re installed my C's Short shifter with a new Mazda Bushing shifter rebuild kit. Feels SOOO much better. I love how clicky it is.. honestly some people don't like it.. But It makes me feel more racey

^ haven't found a Radiator yet...but i've been looking around. Also throwing out some ideas to use another Intercooler Core as a radiator. But that's far fetched and Griffin sell's great radiators in all sorts of different sizes. I'm going to wait till my turbo mani is done before I order one though. Just to make sure we have enough room for a big enough radiator to battle the High Desert Temps in the summer. I'll update with more pics soon!! still have some things in the works!!

You painted your housings with spark plugs installed? I'm guessing those are junk plugs - so you wouldn't get paint in the housings, right?

Yesterday was a good day. Scored a hattrick in my soccer game... 2 of the best goals of my life and came back from a 0-1 at halftime to win 3-1..thanks to yours truly lol . Got my motor mounts in (IRP), got my "other" package and did a little mock up. Waiting to see if i should have my guy fab a new LIM or run an excessive lim. We'll see. A little pic of current works:

^ You know what I might take you up on that, but I might have a griffin rad in a larger diameter from another friend. i'll keep you updated, thanks phil. You know i've done a lot of research on this manifold and the runner diameter and length for forced induction applications and it looks like this manifold is right up my ally. Longer intake runners will benefit low end Torque and the larger plenum is helpful for response. I'm looking for a mid range monster with as much power under the curve as possible. Peak HP is not my priority and I really could care less with impressing anyone with WHP numbers. I just want to be happy with my power-band. Achieving it may be a little bit of a process and may take a few tunes. but i feel like i'll get to where I want to be eventually. Heres one more pic of the set:

def man, just let me know and all u have to pay is shipping and its yours. i wasn't going to use it and nothing is really wrong with it besides being dirty (i bought my koyo a year before i even had my FD in the states lol) and thats definitely sick to hear about the manifold i need to see about trying to get one made similar, cause thats exactly what im looking for. response and tq. i cant wait to see what the tq numbers are at what rpm for your setup!

Don't use an epoxy cored radiator like a Griffen.

"mid range monster with as much power under the curve as possible"

given the fact that our transmission gearing is so wide you are on the money looking for midrange. while you will find peak torque at 6500 w my ports as well as 9000 rpm you will also make 400 sae at 5500 properly tuned at 20 psi. much has to do w early open exhaust ports which add more drive to the turbo.

i am interested in your UIM. i like the larger primary runners that match up w my very large primary ports. you will want to lose the stock LIM and go w the GZ piece.

it is starting to get interesting

What TPS do you plan to use for the throttle body? When that intake was originally for sale I thought the seller stated that the stock TPS would not work. Since you are keeping the PFC for now what do you plan to do?

Thanks howard... everything I've purchased so far has been done so with this goal in mind

Thanks much brotha!! Finally used your fittings guide for fuel fittings...with a few exceptions

I plan to make it work

I was looking at it. I have some pretty nifty friends, and my fab guy is really good with this stuff. Maybe an adapter for the TPS or use a q45 tps... we'll see when the time comes

I have the Q45 wiring diagram if you need it. I'm pretty sure it bolts to your TB. And it's easy to wire up to the stock wires.

Not near as good heat transfer as a full welded unit. Epoxy doesn't transfer heat like aluminum so it can't dissipate. Just get a Koyo for the FD or get a custom one made from Howe Racing.
