Kilo Racing 3 Rotor FD Conversion

Glad to hear things are going so smoothely for a change. Don't be skeptical about this seeing that you were so used to getting the run around. Seems like it will be ready in time for Christmas!

David, I'm glad to hear that the car is coming along nicely. But I'm confused as to why you switched ECU's. Which version of Wolf was in the car? It's too bad that it didn't get finished in Sacramento. I saw your car when it was at Wolf and it is truly a piece of art. I'm sure that you'll be very pleased with it once you get it back.

I don't get why your car was held hostage and you had to pay for something you never received.
Chris should be the person paying Steve to complete the work, pay for the expense of the transport and a large percentage of what was paid him while the car was in his possesion.
Your situation has me suprisingly frustrated but all in all I know Steve will make your car right.
Good Luck

projects can and most often do come out to be bigger than planned, i often run into issues doing custom work that take a bit longer than planned but i wind up eating the extra labor most of the time so i can understand it from chris' point of view in needing more money to get things back together but at the same time hearing from david that some things that were never planned on being done were being done on the car without david's initial consent and then billed for is what got to me, i ALWAYS speak with the owner before making any decisions/changes to the car and such changes to then add it onto the bill?
glad to hear things are finally coming along for you now david, sorry i couldn't help out more but it kind of came out of the blue.

Man, are people really in such a financial bind that they have to take everyone they feel they can get-over-on to the cleaners? Within the past year, I think I've heard more horror stories about people getting screwed, cheated, robbed, taken advantage of by so called professional shops/shop owners. What the hell is the world coming to...

Unfortunately, it seems to happen all the time in the rotary scene. I think the only people I haven't hear horror stories about (in 15 years of rotary ownership) is Rotary Perf in TX, Gotham, Pettit, Racing Beat and few smaller shops here and there.

um, I've talked to David in person....it's been a frustrating road, but then again running a 20b with an atypical ECU is not something people do every day
I think he's learned alot, and I doubt he would say it's been a "terrible experience"

i'm pretty sure David isn't in the poorhouse, this is just a project for him but it is a project that is LONG overdue to be completed. most people think of tables like this as catastophic events, but when you have extra money set aside for such occasions it just doesn't seem quite such a big deal but frustruating nonetheless.
a pretty penny invested but still a car that will rival most cars in the half million dollar range when it is finally completed.

I agree its worth the wait as I am doing the conversion now.
I am curious what half million dollars cars in what areas you think it will compete with? That is a comment that shouldn't be tossed around.
Thanks.

FYI - The Wolf 3D unit, wiring harness, and the Innnovate datalogger with its wideband 02 sensor has been shipped to me. Anyone interested? I have one member who'd like it but cash may be an issue. I also have an RPM convertor (drawing a blank on the brand) available.

When I weighed my options, I decided the quickest route to getting back my car and the $50K I've invested in it would be to pay off Chris and eliminate the legal side of the issue. Yes, I wasted a lot of moeny on this but at least I have my car back and it's now finally being worked on.

Also, how long would a lawsuit take? My business experience tells me a lawsuit rarely nets one what is really due and while this would be going on, would my car still be at Wolf USA?

I still think Chris Greene is an unbeleivably knowledgable guy when it comes to rotaries but the results speak for themselves. To add to what I previously posted, I have now also had to replace my AC compressor because it was not capped off/protected, and dirt has gotten into the unit.
Karak, thanks for taking my panicky phone calls a few months ago. I appreciate it.

I think you've hit the nail on the head with this post. Life's circumstances and stress can make many people resort to bad choices.
