i got another ANOTHER FD. what is wrong with me
i'll post some details later.
this was xicehoundx's car that was for sale on this forum for a few weeks.
i flew to kansas city, put the known bad GTX35R (badly chewed up turbine wheel) back on the car, removed some of his extraneous aftermarket parts from the car, and drove it 8 hours home after a little mishap on the interstate with the turbo oil feed line. i got a pretty good deal on the car, but it was a lot of work...
i got it home and started taking stuff apart, unwrapping the wiring, and cleaning the engine bay, as i do, which tends to turn into a slightly OCD type of thing.
here are some pics.

here are some pics of the cleaning i did over by the BMC/CMC/igniter, and getting the UIM off.
i have a banzai OMP blockoff plate in the mail, and a pineapple "BT" idler pulley in the mail as well.
also, a pic of the blowed up GTX35R.
i am mailing this turbo to Elliot @ Turblown tuesday. He does the garrett CHRA exchange program there, even with a GTX turbo, which just involves swapping the compressor wheels and rebalancing... i talked to this guy a few times on the phone. you can just tell when people really know their ****.
i've also got the wiring harness draped over the fender inspecting it. i found only one broken wire. i'll post up a pic this weekend to see if anyone can identify it for me before i go dig through the wiring diagram. i made a $50 order with mcmaster-carr today for heatshrink and sleeving to unwrap/inspect/rewrap the harness before i attempt an HPDE in this thing. i am considering not spending too much time on the harness though, as i have not-so-distant plans of ditching the PFC/datalogit for a haltech and nice new flying lead harness.

i missed the time frame for editing the first post, so i'll re-post more details here:
i got the car with plans to do several HPDE events, as i took my G37S 6MT to Barber Motorsports Park last month and felt terrible as i beat the **** out of it on the track (though it did very well).
last time i owned an FD i was a poor college kid (imagine that) so hopefully i treat this one right
car has:
gtx35r T4 1.06 (blown) -- purchased a precision 6262 .84 as a replacement, waiting for it to arrive
turblown single wastegate manifold
tia MVR wastegate
tial BOV
rebuild / ported (pineapple templates) engine with goopy seals
PFC / OLED commander / datalogit
rx7store VMIC and radiator kit
innovate wideband
CJ motorsports fuel system
walbro 400lph fuel pump
id2000 secondaries, bosch 550 primaries
stance gr+ pro coilovers
large aftermarket dual oil coolers (not sure on the brand name or who made the kit)
mazdaspeed hood
hks hi power exhaust
rx7store resonated midpipe
99 spec tail lights
rotary aviation omp adapter that i just removed
sakebomb garage 4300k headlight kit (just sold this to a forum member so i could buy a replacement turbo)
several other things i'm surely forgetting

current status of the engine: blocked off oil injectors, removed lines and OMP. this is the CJ fuel system from rx7store.
got the pineapple idler pulley:
turbo gets delivered tomorrow, haltech should be thursday.

finally got the turbo in the mail. need a couple small things before i can install it. apparently both the oil feed threads and the oil drain flange are different between the GTX turbos and the precision... a little misinformation on my part there.
i also got the Haltech PS1000 in the mail today and started laying stuff out for the install.
annnnnd finally put my Banzai omp blockoff plate on.
also, don't worry about my silicon (mcmaster) caps on the coolant lines there. i'm going to hose clamp them before the car goes anywhere

finished most of the harness today and got the car fired up.
still have to wire the TPS and the LS1 coils.
i wired the LS1 coils "temporarily" to get the car running tonight.
video if it running. the sound is terrible.
also, i havent zero'd the timing, and i dont have the wideband hooked up, and i dont have the fans hooked up, so i couldn't run it for very long.

Very interested to see how you like the 6262 turbo. Im looking for a small single that'll drive much like the sequentials, not interested in over 350rwhp, but the twins scare the hell out of me.

me too. people say a .84 housing is borderline for a ported rotary, but i want response.
this turbo is replacing a blown garrett GTX35R, which i am going to do the garrett CHRA replacement program on and then re-sell. this 6262 is very similar in size/specs/airflow, so it should have pretty good response and power.

The 6262 has made stupid power for its size on 2L Evo's. Friend of mine had two of them on his 3.5L VR4 and made 1100awhp with ease with T3 .82 back ends.
My sequential system acted up tonight, so time to start ordering parts and just pray e85 gets me through the sniff test!
6262 or 6266..hrmmmmmmmm

got a pretty slick LS1 coil relocation bracket from a guy on ebay for 30 bucks.
we got the LS1 coils all wired up and i made some custom plug wires.
no pics of the plug wires yet because i'm not happy with them -- probably going to re-make them next week.

i ordered mine through AGP turbo. they don't stock anything and just order straight from precision, then mail it out to you after they receive it... they allowed me to have precision ship straight to me, but it still took 1.5 weeks to get the turbo from the day i ordered.
this seems excessive, but i've never bought a brand new turbo, so i'm not sure how many retailers actually stock these expensive parts...
