Oh I promise you...it will be ugly. Like I said, DGRR was awesome but I was very disappointed how silly the car show turned out. I have some awesome, late 90's FD body kit pieces I'm putting on for DGRR as my protest! Haha. It's a shame I messed up that C-West widebody rear bumper in the accident because that would have made it perfect.

The Dale Clark nut, eh? I guess that's because I'm packing 54mm of POWER!
Or something.
Seriously, though, if you aren't at Deal's Gap this year you're getting your *** kicked. Tall folx need to REPRESENT!

So...I enjoyed the bane of all FD owners existence...the removal of the Fuel Filter. Now that I know how to do it, I can see how it can take 20m. Screw that though, it is getting relocated.
Pulled my Axles, Dropped the Diff, and pulled the Diff Cradle to replace the bushings. Media blasted and painted suspension parts just because.

Have any before/after bolt pics? I'd love to see them, I've thought about getting one of those HF tumblers myself.
Did you get the media at Harbor Freight as well?
If it makes you feel any better my car is apart in the garage, I'm repainting stuff under the hood .

@Dale - Don't have a before...they were filthy....I'll take an after. I just used the fine walnut shells and they worked great. After about 4 or 5 hours I'd say everything but some serious rust was gone and I suspect with a more aggressive media that would go bye-bye as well. It should be noted that I soaked the bolts, nuts, etc. in purple power + water and let them dry before tossing them in the tumbler.
@Gordon - Good to hear from you my friend and look forward to seeing you at DGRR. I suspect the car is 2-3yrs from being "done" as the inside will be completely stripped for now but it is a start!

that parts tumbler is rad! Good stuff!! Look into installing the zerks fittings on your suspension arms while they're out of the car. I meant to do it...but totally forgot and now I regret not doing it. I'll be doing it this weekend but will do it while the arms are on the car.. just gotta be careful not to drill too far into the bushing. And also... i wont be able to notch the bushings to assure the grease gets all the way around the bushing. But anything is better than nothing!

Hi Manny! I had never seen those fittings before....interesting. So basically "all" they do is allow you to directly add more grease to the bushing in the future as you see fit? Is there a specific brand/size you suggest?
Like you said, while the arms are out...why not. Is your suggestion to only do this on the rear, lower control arms or other locations as well? Since I'm feeling lazy, any direct links to FD owners who have done this? I'll search also.

I did it in my build thread.
This is a fitting similar to what I used. http://www.saeproducts.com/grease-fittings-H100RLA.html
Mannykiller, I highly suggest you take the arms off and drill the hole, you have to drill through the bushing, in order for you to drill through the bushing you will end up drilling into the metal center. When you pump grease in you risk the chance of the grease coming out of the outer part of the bushing if there is no channel ground into the bushing. Dont be lazy do the right job, "any job big or small, do it right or not at all".
Here is a pic of the front suspension. Note the position of the fittings, I screwed up installing the fitting on the front bushing on the lower arm, I should have installed the fitting on the bottom of the arm because It is useless now because of the subframe. I have to fix that.

For some reason cutting slots in my bushings scares me. Haha. I have aftermarket trailing arms and toe links that use heim or spherical bushings or whatever you call them. How do these get handled? Because there sure isn't any rubber to cut a slot into!
