Okay well I've been dealing with a **** load of problems recently. 12 point suspension and the fact that my roller got seized at the border. I'm working with my lawyer and the importer to get my car out of impound since its a parts car and customs are just being *****.

Anyway I've been pissed for the past week now. They're charging me $50 a day to have the car sit in their warehouse. WTF.

If only customs were this strict on ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION as they are on JDM cars. psh.

No kidding. Uphold the laws and control our borders. Try being illegal in any other country and your out on your can. There is no other country that would put up with it. Why do we? Because they want the votes.

The white RX-7 is the best looking one I've seen. Can anybody tell me where to get a high-res version?

I'm dealing with a few things right now. My wireless adapter broke on me and I'm waiting for a replacement. I have to post on my iphone and its a pain because I cant post pics of the tear down we did over two weeks ago.

On the plus side... I have a buyer for my 2003 Infiniti i35 and I'll be buying a new DD... 2007 Volvo S60R!! Very excited.

Just wish this whole thing with customs gets worked out before the fees add up to the value of the car.. ugh..

I had an 04 Volvo S60r, 6 speed. It was a great car. The straight-5 sounds fantastic. I'm in TX, we had a few cold days during the years I had it. Man it was fast on those days. Honestly it had the same small intercooler issues as the stock FD. Also the FWD biased drivetrain was a little weak and many people were breaking their angle gears up front, but they were also driving pretty hard. The later years had an improved AWD system and sent more power to the rear end under hard acceleration. It's certainly not designed for dumping the clutch and 1/4 miles though. I miss that car. Hopefully you're getting a manual transmission. If you have not already, check out www.swedespeed.com , I used to be on there as Adamrs80 when I had the car. Also www.ipdusa.com for all your performance needs. Replace the stock airfilter and don't re-use the foam sock if you want to hear the turbo and factory wastegate. Have fun.

I dont believe that is a 99 spec lip. It is similar in design but not the same.

The auto had a torque limiting feature for 1st gear making them much slower. It really is a great car. Consistantly got over 30mpg @ 75 on long trips. The quality of the interiors is something I miss in everything else I've had. Doors are like a vault. Fit and finish was as good as any german car out there. The Brembo brakes are the exact same units that were OEM on the Ferarri F40. Sounds like bull, but it's true. The leather is soft, watch out for the buttons on your back pant pockets, they can catch and edge if you're fat. I want mine back. Sorry for getting off topic, I just get to rambling.

- Look at the driver's side and passenger's side of both lips. The projections on the URAS lip are much larger on each side.

- The URAS lip is one piece.

- The URAS lip has a raised section in the center, whereas the '99 spec lip is straight across.

That raised middle section although I think it looks ugly, must be good for a lowered car trying to get into parking lots.

I believe the raised section in the middle has an aerodynamic effect on the car, so it's not for the convenience of lowered car. Please correct me if I'm wrong though, since I'm no expert, I just learn whatever about aerodynamic from my brother (his name is John too :P).

In fairness, that '99 lip pictured is old and beat to hell. A nice new 99 lip in a deep glossy black doesn't look bad at all, and it'll survive a few encounters with parking barriers and the like. The one piece rigid aftermarket pieces tend to break off in chunks under those conditions

Yea, I am no expert either but, I always thought that for the most downforce one would want to keep as much air out from under the car. if you watch NASCAR on the super speedways the teams try to get the car as low as possible and sometimes even want the splitter to drag on the ground. There might be some rule that doest allow certain aerodynamic "tricks". I do not know, I have noticed that some other front bumbers do the same thing (have a raised center).

It could be some aerodynamic advantage in theory but with out the proper air flow under the car after the bumper it probaly slows you down and reduces downforce.

I'm not sure of the aerodynamic advantages of the Uras lip but I just like that looks like a 99spec on steroids.

It's not like anyone really tracks their cars hard enough to notice the difference a small front lip makes...
