S-HSV beta testing results (3rd party) and Q & A

Here is the link to our beta-tester.

http://www.srtforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=353473

Here is our FAQ. Feel free to ask Any questions. We are excited to offer you guys the highest performing valve on the market. We put alot of time and energy to make sure this valve and Vari-Cool give the customers a real choice in the high speed valve market.

S-HSV represents a new style of methanol water injection and we are proud to bring it to you.

Thank you for reading this. Think of this thread as a Q & A about our product, your questions are welcome.

Here is a picture of the valves. These are extremely small, the picture does not make it clear how small they really are. Easily the smallest valve on the market.

Here is the thread on the other forum with pre-sale details, but please read this thread first.

Coolingmist is proud to offer what we feel is the most advanced injection system on the market. Every part of this system is custom and shows the detail that we put into our systems. Lets discuss this system in detail:

Coolingmist Pump
This pump is manufactured by Shurflo exclusively for Coolingmist. 130 psi is the pressure. There is no pulsing or rapid fluctuation. The pump will be at full pressure at all times. Unlike regular "progressive" or "variable controller" kits that that PWM the pump and vary the motor speed, you can rest assured the pump is always fully primed, at full pressure and ready to go. An external device will monitor the pressure. If the pressure exceeds 130-134 psi the pump will go in standby mode. While in standby mode 130 psi is in the water/meth line waiting for the S-HSV to open. Once the valve opens Meth/water injects instantly causing the pump to start. The pump only goes in standby mode after the solenoid closes, this is because the pump and valves are designed to work with each other.

Coolingmist Trunkmount Tank
Engineered by Coolingmist, this is our exclusive tank. We are the only company in the world that has a tank that fits a shurflo pump. Its designed to match our pump exactly. The tank capacity is 1.5 gallons, so you know you will get alot of driving without having to fill up. Expect 1 to 1 1/2 tanks of fuel before you need to fill this up. This is not a cheap "blow molded tank", but a true spin welded tank. The pump and controller bolt to the tank by metal taps that are integrated into the tank. In addition to all of that, it ships with a low level fluid indicator and straps, bolts and brackets!

Coolingmist Varicool Controller
Varicool is simply an amazing product. Fully tuneable, able to run off multiple inputs (or just 1), Inputs such as MAF, TPS, BOOST, Vacuum, EGT, IAT, MAP can be input into this controller. software package, datalog abilities, the ability to change the curve..... Very easy and simple to use, packed with features you will not see anywhere else. Because its fully digital with smart device programming and with a response time of .28 ms (thats not a typo) you can see why this system works as well as it does. This is the same controller that works on our regular varicool progressive kits. How is this for product support...Everyone that owns a regular coolingmist controller whether they bought it 2 years ago or yesterday can purchase this valve and have our S-HSV system. In otherwords, when we come out with new technology, Varicool will not become obsolete. Thats something you can feel comforitable with.

Coolingmist S-HSV
S-HSV is for someone that wants the absolute fastest possible response time and best atomization and range. With only a 1.5 ms response time to execute instruction these valves are faster than any possible sensor input. This means you can expect this product to respond fast enough to protect your engine under ALL conditions. No other "progressive" controller system on the market can compare to this system. These 2 inline valves are tiny. Maybe 1 inch tall by 3/4 inch diameter. A manifold connects to our pump and houses the valves. Our controller connects to the valves and instructs eachone when and how much to inject. There is nothing for you to think about and its all pre-wired and installed for you.

Hose Choice
Whether you like the durability and looks of our stainless hose and stainless steel compression fittings or the convenience of our nylon hose and show quality looks of our nickel plated quick disconnect fittings, rest assured we have both options for you.

Injection Nozzles
Coolingmist nozzles are exclusive to us as well. Our nozzles tap from the outside of your pipe for easy install and maintenance. Your kit will ship with 2 nozzles. One of these nozzles will work perfect for your vehicle. Both nozzles will have an incredible range and superior atomization.

Brain Free Installation and Ease of Use
You get the system already built for you. If you choose our Trunkmount tank option, the pump is mounted to the tank, the S-HSV are mounted to the pump, the float switch is installed for you, the Varicool controller is mounted to the tank and its all pre-wired. You simple bolt down your brackets, strap the tank down, tap your fitting, run your hose, give power and ground to the system and then either give it a boost signal, Maf, tps, or some other 0-5V source...or you can give it 2 different inputs and create a 2d map. Thats it, its that simple. Lets face it, Jigsaw puzzles are great when your 12, but you would rather be driving your car

Varicool S-HSV FAQ:
Q. Are you changing the speed of the pump with this system?
A. No, the pump runs at full pressure (130 PSI). 2 extremely small valves control flow.

Q. How do your valves control flow?
A. The Varicool controller instructs each valve in the manifold exactly how much flow to inject.

Q. Why is this better than changing the pump motor speed?
A. Due to the size of the valves and the high level of technology built into Varicool the valves have a response time of 1.5 ms. This The actual speed of the valve will vary based on temperature, load, etc.

Q. What is the point of the pump running at full dutycle and does that mean the pump is always running?
A. Because the pump is always at full pressure the system injects instantly. There is no lag. The pump has a safety feature to shut the pump off if the pressure exceeds 135 psi. The system is designed to inject with the pump/nozzle to be at similar pressure at full dutycycle so the pump does not cycle. The shutoff feature is simply designed incase you have a clog. In progressive systems that change the pump motor speed, the pump must go from a dead stop, the rotational mass will have a delay. Think of it this way, with the S-HSV the line is always at full pressure, the small valves open instantly and when you need flow you have it without delay.

Q. Why does the S-HSV system have 2 valves instead of one?
A. In order to get enough flow we added a 2nd valve to our custom manifold. We could have designed a less expensive larger valve that flowed more, but the speed of the valve would not be as impressive.

Q.How much flow will your SHSV Support?
A. Each Manifold (2 valves) can support approx 900 to 1000CC M (13-15 GPH).

Q. I have a previous Varicool kit but like this idea, can I purchase the valve and upgrade my current kit?
A. Yes. its simple, just install the valve, rewire the pump and then use our software to configure the controller to work with the valve.

Q. I like the idea of the valves being connected at the pump it makes it convenient but what about performance?
A. Mounting the manifold is easy when you mount it to the pump, however you can mount it in the engine bay as well. The choice is up to you. By default we will ship this with the fittings to connect it to the pump. Your performance will be remarkable either way.

Q. These S-HSV are so fast, does that mean they will have a short life?
A. No, not at all. There is only 1 moving part in the S-HSV. The lifecycle of the S-HSV is 500 Million Cycles.

Q. Is there alot of maintenance involved?
A. There is no regular maintence other than to make certain you use our filter. Our S-HSV kits ship with a filter to prevent the solenoids from getting debris inside. The filter has a long life and is user cleanable.

Q. Is this hard to install?
A. Absolutely not. Its so simple. Our technology makes it easy for you. Its just as easy as our other trunkmount kits. Power, Ground, Hose, stap the tank down and tap the pipe. We call it "brain free" installation. .
