.

I have now completed the final HFS3 update

The system has been planned for some time, right after the launch of the HFS-6. We want to be certain the core components are totally reliable before launching the second PWM system.

THF HFS-6 has provided us a sound foundation and quick development time. The HFS-3 is an affordable entry-level system for those who wants to venture into the PWM-valve concept, allowing "wide dynamic range" and "fast response to load change".

We have a small time gap before the GB, i would like to take this opportunity to introduce the HFS-2.

Apart from the flow sensor and the dash gauge as supplied with the HFS-3, the two systems are identical. It shares the same "plug and play" controller and FAV (fast acting valve).

As far as the failsafe is concerned, it is the same as all the non-turbine based systems offered on the market. The HFS-2 does have a water level sensor, power-down output to cut boost etc. On top, there are three on-board led indicators, displaying the IDC, threshold and full injection is reached. It also comes with a tri-state dash switch.

The dash switch is (16mm or 5/8" hole) uses the same plug/socket as the dash gauge, no need to wire up. It performs the normal on/off function with toggle a push button. User can enable or disable the WI system. The button is back-lit and doubled up as system status indicator.

There are three states of illumination:
1. Green = system power on
2. Green blinking = injection commences
3. Yellow = tank level is low.

Will post more details of the switch later, with images.

The HFS-2 is designed for those who wants water/methanol as an added safety on their mildly tuned engine, minimise the onset of knock due to bad fuel or "power loss" due to elevated ambient temperatures. Bascially, the system is for "power recovery" usage. Failsafe will largely handled by the ECU's ability to detect knock etc.

If user decided to tune the engine more aggressively, there is a simple upgrade path to the HFS-3, available from Aquamist directly.

The system is offered at a very reasonable price during the GB period at mid $400, never a progressive "PWM-V" system at a price comparable to the PPS system.

The HFS-2 and HFS-3 only needs two signal wires to make it work, generic diagram below.

As promised, the machined body of the HFS-2 dash switch has arrived from the anodiser today, delayed by the recent heavy snow fall last week. We assembled it and took a few pictures. The image is animated to show how the system work in real life. An information much needed before the GB starts in two days time on the aqaumist forum.
