This is good information. I think cutting the black wire will work. Most electronic device switches to ground to active.

If you discount the 2-way plug, will the boost default to wastegate?

This is done under boost conditions. Would you be able to try this whilst it is under boost conditions?

Not until next week unfortunately, car is getting ducting work done and its a long way from here. I'm pretty sure killing one of the wires would have the desired affect.

From what I understand though, that little device just provides pressure on the wastegate to keep it closed beyond spring pressure. If it has no power, it should revert to wastegate pressure since its not providing any pressure on the wastegate.

But couldn't the same thing be acomplished by cutting directly into the boost controller power line?

i would think it would be more preference..if you want a power side switch or a ground side switch...both do the same thing since you need both for current to flow...either that or the aquamist system can only handle a power or a ground side switch

I am sure you are correct, when you take off the "power supply" to the unit, it will stop boosting over the wastegate pressure.

There is a difference between "power-off" and "cutting BCV":

1. Most electronic based system requires a "start-up" time to settle into the working environment. I am sure your device has this little delay before settling into full function.

2. Interrupting the BCV is an instant "on" and instant "off" affair. This is achieved without the knowledge of the Greddy controller, or at least not unsettling the Greddy.

My only concern is the word "motor" is used in the user manual instead of "solenoid valve". Motor controlled boost system has a memory. When power is interrupted during its operation, the boost level will remain exactly where it stopped. No boost drop is expected.

We have experienced this on the older HKS EBC set up, They use a stepper motor to move a boost diverting valve. So when power is interrupted, the boost pressure remains high. Their newer version is sprung loaded and will return to wastergate pressure upon power loss (thank god they have found this out). It does take some time achieve that due to the mechanical gearing- not good.

So hence my concern about the whole matter. I hope you understand why I make this boost-drop matter so complicated.

This is correct, interrupting either supply will work.

The particular failsafe channel I suggested uses a set of "voltage free" relay contact. User determines the "high" or "low" side switching. It is a "change-over" output so there are more choices still for the user. The switching capacity is 3 amps but limited to 1A by the wire gauge used.

Hey guys everything stopped when it was getting to the exciting bit. What has happened??? Does it work, when will the HFS6 be released to the unsuspecting public and will the hero (HFS 6) get to work with the beautiful maiden (the Summer Module).

I am a long way away in Australia and the existing systems are good down here, big HP but none to subtle in application. The set and forget of what you guys have been working on is simply brilliant in my mind, but it has all stopped. Been watching and waiting patiently. Did everyone turn into a pumpkin in April?

Richard, your UK site doesn't mention anything about the HFS6 is it a secret still or do I need to get into the forums?

Updates please! Dying in a ditch over here, the suspense is palpable!

Hello Fang,

The HFS-6 is very much alive, we cannot quite manage to produce enough for the back order so we stop promoting it while we are try to play catch-up.

Here is a wiring diagram of the IDC-Summer and HFS-6. I believe a few members here already got this.

Thanks Richard, I knew someone had to be out there. Sounds like the demand has been pushing you guys pretty hard. Any idea when you have caught up on the back orders and will be taking new ones? I am trying to work out my build calender and want to slot this new kit into it. Thanks in advance.

Oh so true. I still have version 5 waiting in a box. Wow, and I thought that system was impressive. Well it is next on my list to install. Maybe I'll get it done before version 7 comes out, which will just know how much to inject without any wires at all.

I think I take orders outside US in July, most builds are for May/June US back orders. If you like, I will make contact with you in July.

Time is of no essence here, nice!

Water: 10-15% to fuel
50/50: 15-20% to fuel
Methanol: 20-25% fuel

Why not use a fuelcell, such as here:

Cause I don't want to see it and I don't want others to be able to see it too. I'm putting it in the spare tire bin and creating a mini surge tank (1 liter) underneath it in front of the fuel tank.

Richard, when will you make the call on new orders (July) how do we actually do it. Your website still doesn't mention anything about HFS - 6. Will it just be done through here?

I can contact you via pm if you like, RX7/HFS-6 system is unique so I will supply them directly to the RX7 community. I bundle the kit with the summer (special interface harness) to make it into a plug-n-play affair.

Anyone want to buy my spot in the GB? I need to confirm if my spot is still valid first though.
