Aquamist HFS-5 will be replaced by HFS-6 in 2009

or was that already explained and i just missed it?

This is the reason for including the Summer on the HFS-6 discussion. It is not physically possible to include the "Summer" into the H6 circuit board unless it was planned initially. The best way forward for the RX7 application is to employ the Summer for the time being. We cannot offer the Summer free on the comming H6 GB this time, prehaps with a good discount as a bundle.
That said, there are other ways to achieving this on the H6. Naturally, the H6 has two channels, one master and one slave. You can use the master as MAP sensor input andf the salve as IDC. This way, the H6 can be triggered and progressive with boost. As sson as the "secondary" FIDC is received, it can be "summed" into the boost signal, continue to add methanol/water beyond the wastegate setting.

PPS (progressive pump speed) system has a dynamic range of approximately x2 at best, based on the pump pressure change of 60psi to 240psi. The "Summer" coverage is about x500, or x1000 if "peak and hold" injector driver are used.
Please do not expect too much from the Summer.

It appears that we might enough interest to start a GB, across various board. I will get this organise this week, It will probably be held on our "waterinjection.info" forum. People are not willing to sign on other car specific boards. If you can help spreading the words, it will be a reality for sure.
Will you be interested in adding the summer?

Damn, I have 2 HFS-5 kits I haven't even gotten around to installing yet and now I want the HFS-6.
I love the new controller with the RJ45 ports. That is totally badass. At first glance it looks like a small ethernet switch. Very nice!

I am slowly getting to know the RX7 owners, time does not govern their lifes.

What kind of delievry system will you be using the summer on? The summer covers a very wide dymanic range, ie, from idle to full power. If your delivery system does not have a wide dynamic range, the summer's capsbility will not be used fully.

I'm not looking to get the most perfect setup there is, just get as close as I can in the most cost effective way. A high speed valve is an extra $200 that I'm saving right now. Also, I'm running the stock sequential twins which can't efficiently flow much above 15psi. Some people have run them at 18psi and up, once I have my setup ready (and a new clutch) I'll tune for 18psi but only for special ocasions while running them at 14 or so for daily driving.

This is good for the present - a 250psi system will allow to have a dynamic range of just over 2x. (starting at 60psi, not taking account of checkvalve loss and manifold pressure loss).
I think you will see a great improvement on the fuel tracking algorithm with the Summer.
Let me know if you need help setting it up.

Richard,
Your new system is awesome. I am sure others made the same comments but when I was telling you how I would improve things as far as installation, this is EXACTLY what I had in mind. It will be so much easier to install and service than the old DDS3v8. You also won't have to worry about loose connections as much as you did with the DDS3. I am almost tempted to buy one even though I have no use for it currently..lol.
Do you have any job openings? I will come to you, and I can work for cheap!

Thanks for the nice feedback.
The HFS-6 has been under many functional surgeries during the last 12 months. followed by intensive cosmetic make-over for the last three months.
We have many users, like yourself offered ideas and what improvement might be nice during the HFS-5 years. I started with a piece of paper and ended up with a notebook. Putting all the pages into the right order and then turn it into a product was great fun. I would like to do more but it will have to stop at some stage, otherwise the product will never see the light of the day.
No doubt there will be more pages to fill on my note book in the months to come.
Job front, I would stay with your banking job because you will always get bailed out first than us. I still yet to hear from our government that they will inject a few ailing pounds into our little company - we are very green . Any job offer on your side?

I have been inundated with the upgrade requests to the HFS-6 on the last few days. I thought you guys can help me with this dilemma.
I have not yet work out the best way to upgrade to HFS-6 from HFS-1 or HFS-1 yet. I have to do this properly and consistantly. My biggest problem would be supporting the next user with a mixture of wirings and harnesses. The easiest way to over come this is by not offering an upgrade path.
At present, the HFS-6 is being offered for $750 at GB until 1st March. At this price, it means you can pass on the HFS-5 at $600-650. I think this is a very nice way to benefit all. This means that you only 100 dollars for the HFS-6 rather an ungrade that may possibly cost more.
Suggestions?

My only suggestion would be for you to help/facilitate the sale of our (your customers) HFS-5 systems on your board/in your HFS-6 thread. I'm sure you have much broader exposure than any of us do to your customer base. Maybe just a thread on your board with folks wanting to sell HFS-5 kits and link to that thread in your HFS-6 thread so that folks interested in the HFS-6, but want to save a few bucks and willing to settle (hardly settling really) for the HFS-5.
Just a thought. At any rate, please let us know what you're going to do.
Thank you kindly.

I looked very carefully on the ungrade path, it is not straight forward. I just hope the existing H5 users understands the difficulties in such as upgrade.
