To use the Summer alone I have to piece together and buy separately the relays, valve, pump and wire as it is not sold as a kit. Are all the parts available from you? Could you put together a kit? Will the gauge work with this setup?

The SF-3 won't work without the Summer for rotary applications? Is there any benefits from doing SF-3 + Summer as apposed to summer alone besides it being a nearly plug n play complete kit?

I can get the SF-3 from Tripoint but the summer has to be a direct purchase?

Sorry, I need water injection for dummies.

You have many options:

1. Summer + from me or shop around. There are no gauge option for the summer. This is the most economical option for a very accurate delivery system. ....... no failsafe

2. Get the HFS-2 (no dash gauge) and add the summer ........ no failsafe

3. HFS-3 (with dash gauge) an add summer ........... with failsafe

4. HFS-3 (with dash gauge and failsafe) without summer. See below

A summer is not needed if your primiary injector is quite small. This is because your engine may not be needing methanol until the secondary injector starts to inject. You simply take the IDC signal from the secondary injector to control the meths flow.

For example: you car has 400whp, your primary injectors are 550cc/min and secondary injectors are 1600cc/min. Your total fuel capacity is 4300cc/min.

The secondary injectors switch in at 25% IDC. At this moment in time, you are pumping 25% of 4300cc/min = 1075cc/min for fuel into the enigne. This also mean your engine is producing 100whp.

Under those circumstance, you don't need the summer because your engine may not necessary requires methanol at 100whp.

The summer has to be a direct purchase from me at $120 +shipping of $20 (airmail- no tracking).

I like the summer only package. Wow, why isn't every rotary using one for that price? Thank you for offering us (minority niche market) the low cost Summer alternative! I wish I would have looked in to that with my last engine.

The retail cost of my engine is about the retail cost of the car, so fail safe = priceless. I also looked the the HFS-6 but not understanding the extra's I don't know if it's needed or if I would benefit from it.

I have 850cc x2 Primary's & 1300cc x 2 secondary's, single turbo setup. I would have tuned for 12lbs on 91oct, but with water injection I will tune for 15lbs. I believe my fuel system max's out at 450hp, so that and lower octane fuel will limit the power but my main concern is long term reliability and prevention of overheating.

Please pm me prices for HFS-3 & HFS6 and you can send a PayPal invoice for the summer to GoRacer@yahoo.com (1994 RX-7). thank you!

The summer was created to solved the RX7's staged injection algorithm for our IDC system to work correctly. We sold over 120 of them and no plans to produce any more. We only have a vey small hand full of summers left, no more than 4.

HFS-6 is unnecessay if you have the summer. All IDC trimming and rescaling is done inside the summer. I think you should be looking into the HFS-3.

Your total fuel capacity is 4200cc/min. At 25% , you will be flowing approximately 1050cc/min. Before estiminating the power at this fuel flow, can you/anyone tell me what is the SFC (specific fuel consumption) of a RX7 engine?

I will pm you the price of the HFS-3 and paypal details of the Summer order.

Received, and a lot smaller then I expected. Thank you

Could you (or anyone) tell me what size the gauge is of the HFS-3 (or any other that includes it)?

Thanks for the update.

The HFS-3 guage is 52mm. industry standard for the automotive. I believe all the Summers are gone for good.

Hey Richard,

I'm a bit confused, but I might be a bit late now. Is the summer only a necessity for those running a meth mix? or was it needed for 100% water as well? I am planning on running all water for now.

Also, I have the HFS-6. I'm also not sure what the main difference between the hfs-5 and hfs-6 is. I am assuming I do not need the summer? I am running 550/1600 and should be around the 400rwhp mark. Pre turbo by the way.

Ken

nevermind. did some searching and found the difference between hfs-5 and hsf-6. For those looking for more power.... with no summer available, are we screwed? I would love to have a summer just in case i need it.

Ok. I need a bit of clarification.

The default setting is at 47% FIDC correct? So that means, it is only monitoring the secondaries and ignoring the primaries?

Hello Ken,

Sorry for the late reply.

In most cases, it is unnecessary mirror the primary and secondary flow. If the triggering point of the system is over 25%, you do not need the summer module. Of course this will depend on what power you have reached at 25% IDC and if meth injection is necessary

I would just tap into the secondary fuel injector, set the trigger point at 24%. As soon as the secondary injectors start, the meth will mirror the fuel flow.

Thank you Richard,

I understand now. 24% FIDC trigger point goes for 100% water was well?

At 24 %, the water pump starts and the inline valve starts to pulse and tracks the secondary fuel injector's duty cycle. From 24% -100%.

Massi,

The last summer was sold a few months ago and we have no plans to make more unless there are sufficient demand to justify production cost.

Any chance you could start a new thread to see how much demand there is currently?

Massi,

I am not a vendor here so I am unable to post commercial threads.
We have sold ~120 units, there must be some S/H available on this forum, Do some search first.

I will consider this for 20+ units but will not be at the old price unless tags on with one of our existing systems. Making 20 units is not cost effective. In all cases, you do need some more hardware anyway.

I might consider improving the current version (2) to 3, an extra trimmer to trigger the system via IDC, do away with the machanical presure switch completely. The newer controller can almost act as an stand-alone system, just add a pump and fast acting valve (from aquamist).

I'm very interested. I know I need more than just the Summer unit and would be looking for a complete package for my car.

Richard, how can we get more people interested? Is there a way to get a thread started when you're not a vendor on this forum?

Hi Richard, I bought the HFS-5 system around 1 year ago with the Summer also. The car has been in the shop since then but the shop people are telling me they are having many problems making the system work correctly with the AEM computer.
They spoke with you and you told them to send the unit to you for inspection but I can not afford to wait another 2 months for the unit to go to UK, be checked, fixed and come back. And that is IF the unit is deffective to begin with that we are not sure.
I think you also told them that you guys discontinued the HFS-5 because it was too complex or something like that so there is no option for you to send another one as a replacement while we send you this one.
Is there a way to do some kind of swap with the HFS-6 or even the HFS-3?
I am really worried because the car has been so long in the shop and I dont want to have to wait more time because of this.
Please you can answer here or send me a private message if you like.
Thank you very much for your help...

The HFS-5 has been discontinued two years ago. I cannot imaging our system stayed on our dealer's shelf for that long for you to purchase it a year later.

At no time did I mention to any shop that the HFS-5 is too complicated to install so we decided to discontinued it. All our unit is fully tested prior to shipping. DOA is not possible.

I am sorry I have to start answering your post in a defensive manner, you may be voicing someone else opinion and start writing a negative post. I am not sure I should response positively.

Until you have verified the place and date of purchase, I am under no obligation to send you a replacement, especailly a newer model. This request is unreasonable and beyond belief. I really cannot believe what you are asking, especially in an open forum.

Aquamist has always conduct their business with integrity and honesty. I myself has always walked that extra mile to help out any customer with any problem from start to finish - but your post has changed my view completely, both upsetting and disappointing.

I will not be sending you a pm and mkaing further respond to your requested. I advise you to take this up with the company that supplied the system originally.

The Summer is designed to work with the

Well anyone is interested for me to re-produce this summer module, just send me a pm or message. There is no way I would compile a list here.

I will be putting in an addition option to trigger the system via IDC percentage, it will be a V4.

Richard, I am sorry you took the post that way, I wasnt trying to be aggressive or negative, just voicing as you said what the guys in the shop told me. And if you read it you can see that I said that I dont even know the unit is deffective, just that they can not make it work correctly, so it is not dead either.
I have never said that you have done any "bad" business or conducted yourself in any wrong way, actually I had a good experience with you when I bought the unit, just asked if you guys would be able to do a swap, thats all.
Of course I will get the information about the date of purchase, I said around a year, it could have been a year and a half or so, I will check to make sure and tell you.
Thank you...

I just checked the emails and you were right, the unit got here a little more than 2 years ago not one. I didn't realized so much time has passed already, I am sorry.
I bought it directly from you by the way.
Thanks.
