gday!
hey ppl, how are you all doing?
well i dont drive an rx7 but aam very interested in one for a future car.
Just curious, is it possible to do an engine conversion in a series 5 rx7?
i was thinking maybe a honda h22a or the s2000 engine
how difficult would it be and what needs to be done? rough costs would be good to
i've heard that with rotors that you have to rebuild them a lot plus the price of petrol atm.
i got 2 model rx7's on my table now and their looking sweet as.... both from initial d lol
peace out

To most Aussie rotorheads. Your idea would seem some what sacraligeous.
So its doubtful your going to get any help from an Aussie, let alone find some one that has done such a thing here
Try the USA section because the American way of solving any issue is to install a V8.......
Good luck............

ive just been reading and i like the idea of the sr20 conversion. Is this difficult to do? i know that if you have money that anything is possible
since i heard that rotors need to be fixed a lot more than piston engines so yeh, thats why i thought of this. If the conversion goes wrong though i would probly spend more money tuning it and getting it right
hmmm such a hard decision......
whats the petrol consumption on a full tank for the FC? how many litres does it hold and how much you guys pay usually to fill it up?

yeh i agree with silvers47
theres no point i buying an rx7 to replace the motor
its like an unwritten law rx7 = rotary
if you do the right mods i should kill most pistons anyway

if you like the sr20...like what dmrh has said buy a s13 or something in that family!!!!
Rotors do drink petrol and as long as you take care of them....they aren't any different to a piston engine...
if ur scared about petrol consumption and enigne maintenance...look somewhere wlse mate...

What's wrong with needing to be fixed more often? I guess that it's expensive. So how does spending big $$$ on an engine conversion save you money? You'd be better off with a good condition rotor and maintaining it properly. Not hard to do and not necessarily expensive. Your major expenses will be fuel and maybe insurance.
