I was talkin to a guy that works at CruizinAuto Sales or whatever the hell down in McKenna (for those who know where that is) and i brought up my idea of pickin up an 87 Turbo II , he suggested rebuilding the engine because he said that after 80k miles on the turbo model would be a good idea to have the engine rebuilt over at Atkins Rotary or just take out the motor completely and order the JDM engine

 

it all depends on how badley beaten that engine was before you got it..
I have seen the 87-91 turbo engines go up to 160.00 before thay need rebuilding.
It is the 93-95 RX7 that are dead @ about 80K as thoes are streetable race cars and that is how thay are driven...

If you do need a rebuild here are some prices for you and some things we can do too..


Rebuilding yours will be 1000.00 + parts.. I wont know what your block will need in tell it is all apart and we can look at it..

as for the base rebuild it will be 3050.00 with new rotor housings and a $550.00 core charge..
I can also add street porting for 300 more too..

Never mind getting the jdm engine, you'll just be gambling there. Atkins will surely take good care of you on a rebuild. Dan is a good guy to talk to and deal with from my experience so far.
