AEM Has New Map for FD V1.03
Aem has released a new map for the 30-1800 (FD) Box they sell, actually they released 2 maps one with 1600cc secondaries and one with out....

Do I look Crazy ?!
No I have not... I'm supposed to take my car in next week so they can look at the OMP problem I've had on both cars... as well as some split timeing issues...
So I'll wait 'till I get some advice from those guys first... and by then I'll maybe have a Hybrid map of what's on the forum....
I don't get everybody selling their maps... what's up with that !? It's not like I'm going to be able to take your map and stick it into my car even with identical mods and have a "Solution" to my problems....
I had the '94... well I took the map that AEM tuned for me for the '94 and put it on my new '93 ... Same Setup, Same Map, Different results.... so that leads me to belive that tuning is truely a platform dependant issue... and no matter how well it runs on your setup, mine is different and therefore will need adjusting, and then why should I pay $150 for their Dyno Time... the map is probhably as usefull as the basemap to whomever I take it to to get tuned...
Bottom Line, Pay the Dyno Bill like everybody else and don't try to rip off some poor guy under the false asumption that he has the same mods as you and could benefit...

I will have my single conversion completed by next week so I plan to make it to their "Recommended Certified AEM Tuner" soon. They're 5 hours away from me but supposedly they have massive experience with AEM and the FD. It may be a few weeks before I can get up there but I will be happy to share my map for free to whoever wants it. Those people that are trying to sell their maps make me sick.

Oh If I wanted my life to be simple and my ECU to be completely "hands off" I'd get a power FC in a heartbeat, but I don't like XS Engineering, and I like to know how things work and the AEM fills both those needs. It's all about priorities... Mine are fullfilled by AEM... other people have other needs / priorities...

Yes I really think that people trying to sell thier maps are a bunch of jerls. The thing is when someone else figures out the problems they will be the first one there with thier hands out looking for a free map to fix their remaining problems. The AEM has really taken off in the Supra Community because they are all about helpin each other out to make the most of their common investment.

Well AEM FD Owners need to take a step back and try to help eachother ratrher than their pocketbook...
One thing I do STRONGLY suggest is whatever you get be CAREFULL.... My Map that worked like a charm on my '94 destroyed my motor (Apex Seal) on the new '93...
With the SAME mods... Ironically enough... so Rotaries are not a good platform for file sharing....
It's better to look at what someone has done with the warmup tables and replicate this on your tuned map, than to import his and pray that his fuel maps are not going to lean out...
The bad news is engine rebuild... the good news is street port and clean slate on engine.....
So.... I could kick myself for using the map for the two days I had it on there to drive to get it tuned... I should have done the swap in the parking lot... but who knew it would kill my seal....(Hindsight 20/20)

You're right - selling maps, especially running off a manifold absolute pressure sensor based engine management system is retarded.  Even on identically set-up cars, the VE is slightly different, and I put money that it won't run identically the same.
Most of the Haltech guys understand that swapping maps isn't going to give you an instantly good running engine.

Base map = drive it to your tuner.
Map from the internet loaded directly into your EMS = blown engine.
Now if only people would realize that a wideband O2 sensor doesn't turn Joe Blow Tuner into Rick Engman any more than a fingerpainting set will turn them into Michaelangelo...

Actually, the Australian AEM has also been busy with the FD. The newest firmware version of the Wolf3DV4 is now able to work with the FD's ignition system without modification.

who is the tuner for the AEM computer around southern california because my car will be ready from rotary power and i need to drive it to a tuner to get it tuned rich for a break in.

From what I hear R&D Dyno in gardena is a good shop, it's where AEM used to take their cars before they got their own dyno... from what I understand...
